They were making a sequel but the publisher didnt like it. Heavy Rain And Indigo Prophecy are supposed to be spiritual sucessors
More recently, David Cage once said "sequels kill creativity", and that Quantic Dream will only do single installments instead of series, which is ironic because his recent games are very similar and derivative even though they are not "sequels", and an Omikron sequel with a modern touch would be a lot more unique than their "press X to Jason" formula.
Others are just interactive movies.
My hope for a sequel died like 3-4 years ago
