No Overlay and Bad Performance in Menus

I got the game on Steam here now from the freebie deal, and I have two issues right off the bat:

1. The Steam overlay does not open.

2. The performance when in menus is horrible. I can't even really use the Sneak without spending 10 minutes just trying to select something.

That was an ancient comment. Apparently the overlay works with Win7 but not with Win10. The dgvoodoo watermark can easily be disabled from its menu.

Old thread, but I managed to get the Steam Overlay working in Windows 10 by using dgVoodoo2 and running Steam as "Administrator" before launching Omikron.

I had trouble removing the watermark, but I finally managed to do with these steps:

Extract the "2dgVoodo.rar" and accessed the extracted folder
Delete the "dgVoodoo.conf" file and run "dgVoodooCpl.exe"
Go to the DirectX tab and uncheck the option to show DGVoodo watermark
Select "Apply" and "Ok"
Close 2dgVoodo, searchin windows explorer for %appdata% and access
Acess the 2dgVoodo folder found in this directory
Copy the file "dgVoodoo.conf" and paste it in the directory of the 2dgVoodoo folder that have been extracted
Run "dgVoodooCpl.exe", access the DirectX tab and check the option to show the DGVoodo watermark
Uncheck again the option to show DGVoodo's watermark
Select "Apply" and "Ok"
Close 2dbVoodo, finally copied the necessary files to the Omikron folder and it's done!
