CPU upgrade
hi i have a ryzen 5 5600 with a 3070, i play in 1080p, in cities my fps fall down to 30 40 on high settings, but in open world i have between 90 120 150 depending of the zone.
i didnt know if its worth upgrade to r7 5700x3d or if its necesary upgrade to an AM5 r7 7700x/ r7 7800x3d.
Ghz vs L3 cache war
i didnt find any "benchmark" between those 3 cpus to make my choice
Ty
if i stay at am4 socket i can save money to upgrade the GPU

New generation and ddr5 are better, but if you want to save money and get better performance, then 5700x3d is a great choice
it would be good to have 32 RAM with low timings

Wait for the 9800x3d, should be releasing between now & january. Do not go for 7000x

For gaming frequency is more important than timings.

Go for the 3D lineup for gaming; AM5 is worth the upgrade if you can afford it. I'd highly recommend the 7800x3d. You'll have your 10% CPU bottleneck removed in gaming + performance increases from the new components. (Pair it with 2 sticks of DDR5 / cl30 6000mhz)

After that worry about your GPU.

you are wrong, low timings are very important on am4, and frequency above 3600 does not give this processor a big performance boost, unlike timings
you know little about amd

imo the cost for performance isnt there just yet unless you find a good deal to go new gen. I say get a 5800x3d and a better graphics card. The 5800x3d vs the new stuff is pretty close considering you'd have to upgrade the mobo and ram also. If you get a better graphics card you can also play in 1440p which would take some of the load off the CPU as well. I have a 5800x3d and a 6900xt and i play in 1440p with great results on pretty much everything but keep in mind im using a 4k rated card to play 1440p.
