Early access and f2p servers do not have the same economy. Theres way more spenders per f2p in early acess than f2p servers, and at those 5 days of pre release you could make thousands by selling pretty much anything. Gems had an absurd price cause the only unlocked dungeon was ant nest (crypt unlock nuked gem prices except the red one).
You could even reliably sell any piece of green gear for 100-400 lucent depending on the item, god knows why. Maybe people trying to make litographs or its the pvp meta, i can't tell.
Theres another funny thing. Due to how wonky selling is (it defaults everything to 10 lucent, regardless of quantity), people were selling their gems of random amounts for 10 lucent. if you sell one yellow gem for 10 lucent, its perfectly fine. But people would put their stack of 15 gems for 10 lucent, and you could snipe those for easy deals. It was so common, in fact, that i would often spend 30 minutes refreshing the market just sniping these deals and reselling. I would open the market between dungeon pulls to see if there was anything "free" for grabs. It was hilarious.
Im saying these things to describe how disconnected early access economy was, compared to f2p release.
Anyhow, nowadays you'll be making your lucent from dungeon drops mostly, as every other source is "saturated". most purples with heroic in their name are worth a bit, but meta blues many times outshine them. make sure to evaluate if its worth the trait extraction investment, since purples cost 25.
Guild boss is also a good source, which has way better chances of giving you something.
Some golem weapons are also worth a bit, you can buy the golem weapon selector from a level 10 guild shop.
but in essence the more you play, the more you make. This means that having an alt is also highly benefitial, as it gives you access to more dungeon entries daily. Pricecheck every blue/purple and join a guild.
Lastly, i want to note that regions are very different from eachother. You will never see a SA region player saying its easy to make lucent. Given its a poor region, theres barely any spender (even Early access markets are dead). This comes mostly from the NA perspective, possibly EU aswell.
