Game population will either drop or people will get carried
The first level 50 dungeon Death's Abyss is rated at 1600 gear score but premade parties are starting to look for players with 2000+ gear score. Even if teams do know the mechanics after a few wipes and do all the right things, they are often still taking too much damage and dying from attrition.

This suggests survivability of mechanics is really hard for most players and they want overpowered players to push through on their own and basically kill the boss quickly, overcoming mechanics with damage.
This is often what happens when people get frustrated with too-hard mechanics you have to do a few times each fight, each round killing off a few team members.

Nowadays players don't want to be in progression groups and inch their way through content, learning "dance steps" of a fight to repeat over and over, especially when you then get a tiny chance of getting what you want or a tiny fraction of what you need to get better gear.

they need to chill and remember its a game, if they have other reasons to play other than fun they most likely should be banned =p (real money transfers)

I personally don't think it will be mainly the instanced dungeon designs that will cause that. The gear that you find in those instanced dungeons isn't exactly the best Epic gear you can find, that is reserved for world bosses, and that gear is very hard to obtain unless you are willing to spend real currency and buy those items from the auction house. That being said, those mechanics aren't exactly hard, but sadly too many people seem to be either unwilling, or mentally incapable of learning these rather easy mechanics. Not every single person is competent, and that's fine, but the mechanics aren't complex or overdone to the point where it's unreasonable.

Whatever the case, when you start to see party-finder wanting overpowered players only, it's clear that most parties that qualify for matchmaking aren't succeeding.
And there's no point complaining about mechanics being "rather easy" or players not being "competent' because that's the demographic you are working with.

Other games like SWTOR and ESO don't gate gear so hard. Usually there's another way around it if you don't want to do progression-group difficulty content, like Story Mode to get blue gear then upgrade it later instead of right away getting a purple version drop.

LOL most matchmaking is stuck for both tank and healer, mostly healer.
And I queue as dps but I carry Wand for self-heals and I'm the last person standing almost all the time. Usually I can survive the boss for a while but there's no more dps output when I'm defending and healing half the time.

Group healing seems actually quite hard because all your skills end up on cooldown.

I feel like that's intentional. They make group healing hard so that the group doesn't grow comfortable on failing mechanics and blocks. In fact, I think in the coming hard mode dungeons, failing any mechanic even once will result in a wipe. So everyone will have to be on their game 100% of the time, true Korean MMO style. It will be hard and it will require min-maxing and even the healer will need to contribute to DPS to stop the boss from hitting his enrage timer. It's then that people will know true pain in the matchmaker and turn to the party board more often.

It is easy to get to 2000+ as F2P.

I got 2 characters one is 2600 and the other is 2400. I'm 100% f2p.

Most Abyssals dungeon drop blues and you can build fully traited blues. I am not including drops that you can sell (purple ones - heavy attack sells most). I use 2400GS to sell Precious gemstones (because it is not my main).

I prefer a 1600 player that does not die every single mechanic and know how to avoid it, than a whale or spoiled elitist with 2200+ that dies after 10 seconds the fight started.

Reminds me other mmo's where dungeon dropped ilvl 400 items but people were asking 450 to join. What's the point if you can't even get an upgrade.

2000+ is literally the bare minimum amount of effort put into a character I am 2200 and have done like 2 dungeons and ran crypt for an hour

Intelligent players dislike being carried, so there's only one answer.
Kefka Oct 12, 2024 @ 8:28am
to be fair ppl dont do mechanics and dont block things that are blockable. for instance cave of destruction, ive been kicked from parties for not healing even tho they are taking 15k or more from the explosive ants (mainly an issue when 4 or more spawn). i cant heal that, BUT it is blockable. ppl also dont stun/interrupt stuff that can be.
ciitron Oct 12, 2024 @ 9:09am
as a pure healer i dont care to have a ppl with green stuff or 1600 , i can carry the party with my heal in this easy dg
