In case you didn't know, theres another way of getting traits that isn't just having the extract of the same item (although you do need that for the first tier), and thats by feeding items of the same slot with that trait but of a lower rarity. It has a low % chance of succeeding, but each fail will build up "blessing" which is a pity meter, that can be used to improve your odds.
So one strategy is to fail intentionally, stacking as many blessings as you can to finally do a guaranteed transfer.
Then I need to farm blue items with trait that I want (gloves, legs, helmets etc..) and I can transfer from it the trait?
It does not need to be the exact epic item?
I will describe what would be the smoothest process when transitioning from blue to epic, i think that will clear any questions you may have.
First, you work on a full set of blue gear all the traits that benefit your build. Not just any blue gear either, but the correct base types, as they also have important stats that can vary wildly. That will be better than a traitless set of heroic gear (heroic is pretty bad)
After you are done with that, you can start considering purple pieces. I'd recommend to get the base item + all three traits once first, so you can start building this item instead of it being blank. In order to add the desired traits for the first time, it has to be extracts of the exact same item.
so now you have your +9 traited blue and a +0 purple with level 1 traits
You transfer that blue, and it will get a ton of blessing (900 ish i think?) which can be used.
Now, you will drop blue and green pieces for that slot that has one of these traits aswell, and try to transfer them. greens will have 1% chance of success, blues a little more, but even when you fail it builds up blessing.
Blessing can be used to boost success chance for one attempt, and even if you fail it will consume blessing. So only use it when you can guarantee a success (the lower your current odds, the more blessing it needs).
lastly, you will keep feeding these items with the same trait until you either succeed or guarantee a success with blessing. This is a time consuming process ofc, its the endgame gearing of Throne and L.
More systems will be added later on, but this is the core progression.
"Welcome" to South Korean MMO's :') They somehow love/enjoy these systems. The paradox is that you can get a lot of Dopamine manifested addiction with how they design it too. Right now for instance, if you want to unlock traits for certain classes/gear-sets, you are basically isolated into killing open-world mobs in which the drop-rate is catastrophically low, we are talking 10 hours for a single drop, and then when it drops it may not even be dropping the trait you need. And then you may think, but I can roll for a random trait with these blue stones related to rerolling of traits? Well they are extremely scarce so it is somewhat problematic to use them for blue-gear. So you are back at hitting at times very annoying mobs, some that are range and hard to bundle up and whatnot xD
to be fair, the trait reroll stones have been made more acessbile i hard, with guild shop (apparently its not there for KR or something). You can buy 100 weekly which is massive
The whole economy and gear levelling system is so tedious.
That one chance can make a 200 lucent trait turn into a 3k lucent trait. So yeah, its limited and tedious cause of the potential it has.
