I bought one of the passes but even so I have already started running into the issues people were warning about.
Hit lvl 50 and have completed most of the solo quests. The regular regional events have such low rewards once you have done them once dissuades.
I have several boss quests but during "peace" nobody is there to do them with. People show up during conflict but it is impossible to get people to work together (despite there being others who still need it) as someone always jumps in the middle, hits an aoe key or what have you and the boss never gets finished.
I have a guild that was doing pretty good but people started losing interest. Of course getting in with another guild that still has active players does not seem great as the most active now are either young new players who came in late or the top guilds that either are not looking or want whales.
I have never hit this before in an MMO where there became so little meaningful to do so fast.

I think that's a skill issue of the players on your server. On Kazar, we are doing them all and it's fun. For example, with my guild I play with, we make parties and do all the events together, probably rotating them hourly, so we don't miss anything.
All players do peaceful and conflict bosses both solo and with the guild and when you ask for party, people invites you or if you generate an invitation link for your party, it gets filled instantly.
Additionally, arena, pvp, shadow crypt, saurodoma island, sanctum people always are up to play together to farm or pvp alongside.
We also do parties if people are available for contracts, so it's quicker and more fun.
We also organize guild dungeons, guild co-op dungeons or if you feel like going with randoms, you can always make party with randoms from other servers too.
Grinding your gear for PvP takes a lot of time and maxing the traits will surely take you awhile. I only managed to max my GS but I am still missing lot of my items such as daggers, armor gear (I only have my chest) and still rocking green accessories, unlucky on the drops.
So defo sounds like a skill issue on your server, I would probably look into transferring to another server, what I did when I started. I started in Ezekiel but it was mainly Spanish speaking and no one would understand English, so I moved to Talus which turned to be Portuguese, then Lightbringer which was okay, many English speaking but then I moved to Kazar and I loved it here. Plenty of things to do, people are nice (except night time :D).

work on your Lithographie, on collecting Amitoi, on expedition rank, fishing, cooking, on collecting all books and letters and so on.
I dont rush and just chill and relax. and even if you completed 100% of the game, no shame in putting the game down a few months and pick it back up after new content was released. if you like the combat from this game you should check out Guild Wars2 (older, but similar in many regards, but tons of content)

Atleast you're finally able to see it now.
It's not enough for some people to see the auction house being premium only.. Lucent has to come from someone.
You can do Arena then get 2 shot by a "pay to progress" player.

server issue for sure, do search what to do when lvl50 (contracts, etc).
i have serious issues joining a group for lvl50 dungeons. i can't join in time (too many requests) or rejecting (i'm at 1950). The only way to join a group is with matchmake but it takes for ever. The only good thing is you can continue doing other stuff meanwhile

every time you think you play this as a normal mmo, look at the auction house.

what is happening here? who is defending this? this is not a game, its a leech feeding on our past experience to make us pay real money for in game items.

you can play this game entirely f2p fine and its no different then any other MMO

i could argue the same of any piece of gear in any mmo as i cant just go RMT it and pretty much 999/1000 times never be punished

I haven't spent a single dime on this free game and been having a blast so far.
We've all made over 1k lucent simply by selling extracted traits at the auction house and bought both battle passes, again for free.

I'm just glad I tried the game myself instead of listening to all the smoothbrain reviewbombers. Would have missed out on a great game with my friends.

That is impossible. You are either arriving at the wrong time or location
Portals stay open for 5 minutes after it starts, and will despawn after that, locking everyone inside the boss instance.

Its impossible for you to be in a server where theres no players on a boss lol
