That's essentially tab targeting and not what I am talking about.
I think you should be able to use every melee ability without a target.
That daggers, sword, and greatsword should all have a hitbox that varies based on their size, and that you should be able to just swing away like in an Action RPG.
The additional problem with the targeting system, is the fact that the game will change targets despite my settings. It will target an ally or some enemy to the side, so I'm either hitting the wrong target, or I'm "too far away" because, again, it's not the target I even wanted. So I truly would rather play without its "assistance".
Let me hit things via the reticle like an actual action combat. Direct my movements and skills to where I'm facing. And if I want a target to stick on something, then let me manually do that via a hotkey. This is what I was hoping for from the combat, not whatever it is we've got so far.
