Throne and Liberty: Promising at First, But Struggles with Longevity
When I first started playing Throne and Liberty, my initial experience was quite positive. The graphics are truly impressive, the challenges offer some level of entertainment, and there’s a certain freshness that makes you want to explore the game world. Even with gameplay I’d consider average, I’d give it a solid 7/10 at the start.

However, as days went by, I noticed the initial charm began to fade. The game falls into an almost mandatory cycle of repetition. The same quests, the same mechanics — it feels like digital fast food, a McDonald’s of gaming. Doing the same things repeatedly not only diminishes the game’s impact but also turns the experience into something predictable and, frankly, boring.

Another point that caught my attention was the game’s economic model. Before installing it, I read that Throne and Liberty wouldn’t suffer from a big gap between players who spend real money and those who play for free. To test this, I created two accounts: one with financial investment and one without spending anything. The difference in performance between them was glaring. Pay-to-win, unfortunately, is more present than promised, making progress feel unfair and frustrating.

The biggest issue, though, is how quickly the game becomes monotonous. The burnout sets in even before reaching the character’s limits. Honestly, it feels like the only people continuing to play are either deeply addicted or staying for the friendships formed in-game, because the experience itself fails to surprise.

My final rating reflects this progressive disappointment. Throne and Liberty starts with potential that could justify a 10/10. But over time, that number steadily drops. After just over a month of playing, my current rating is 5/10. Unfortunately, it’s just another title that seems grand at first but ends up feeling like a rehashed movie.

I’d love to hear if anyone else had the same perception. Can anything be improved? Share your experiences!

as a long time lineage 2 player and a fan of these type of pvp mmos... i just think the pvp was awful.... honestly... thats why i think most left...

when you can just spin to win.... or flame waves... how does that make it long lasting fun pvp ? if you instance die even with 3500 GS.....

I still play the game and sit at 3'600 combat power. Making Lucent in the game proves hard. If you get a drop with a bad trait after a co-op dungeon run, it will not sell. Frustrating! I have not spent Euros in the game because paying real money for traits seems wrong.
PvP, I do not touch! Getting killed in three seconds feels terrible!
Does anyone remember Warhammer Online? It had good PvP, fights lasted longer, and you did not die instantly! I wish Throne and Liberty had similar PvP.

The lucent in our server’s Stonegard vault is around 200k after the 3rd siege.
We won the last 2. There is no motivation to win the next upcoming siege, since people stopped swiping for lucent lol. The rewards for doing that is getting less after each siege.
As a melee class your character slows down during autoattacking and needs to be extremely close to the enemies to hit them.
Ranged classes are more favoured in this game.
Siege and large scale PVPs are pummeling my fps down from 100+ to 30 which is very enjoyable.
Charging skills are still not fixed, often happening to me, the charge is done, but my character freezes and “stuck”.
It was fun for 2 months, but that’s all. Boring and no major fixes, just more battlepasses.

TnL does the progression curve better, forcing people to form alliances
with other guilds, but that’s all.
Farming runes is a joke, no one wants to play the same dungeons over and over again.
T1 and T2 matchmaking is almost dead, PVP is medicore (maybe better as a ranged class, but as a melee it’s a disaster).
Taxing a paid currency is the most diabolical thing I have ever seen in an MMO.
