T2 Blues won't Transfer into T2 Purples

Hey, so I was lucky enough to get a set of those T2 blues and as I levels up picked up the starter T2 purples. Well, i can't transfer the levels from teh T2 blues into the T2 Purples I got, is that intended? My GS is currently 3.6k. Is there some limit I have to reach before I can transfer from them or were they never intended to be transferable? Thanks!

if you are using the free T2 set from the code you can't use that gear for the transfers as they are bound.
