What is going on with MainQuestBoss Archwizard Royal Guard

Ok first it was my mistake to assume game leaves my char as it is.
Had to re equip my daggers to be abble to dodge.
Ok now this boss does some special attacks, no problem we have Q, right?
But no, this boss makes those special attacks every 5 seconds and you can only Q twice until you have a massive cooldown.

What in the hell is going on? Why does this boss do so many Q attacks you CAN NOT dodge since u can only dodge like twice!?

Had this issue too, as a ranged char I kept getting stomped too. Read elsewhere that if you get close to him (like melee char) then he stops the stomp/aoe. With doing this it was a lot easier.

omg ok I did not think about going melee with him. I am ranged so why would I.
I kited and cheesed him around the pilar he jumps from.
So I could cheese all his Q attacks. Was awful but still easy at the end.
