Rune System implementation?
The game seems to be doing everything to destroy itself after release - lots of bad decisions and runes are the same sadly.

Besides adding another grind mechanic - why did they decide to not implement it in the other parts of the games like contracts etc.?

This just adds another layer of grind and even worse locks the grind to additional requirements on what you can do. The game is losing lots of players already why now even go further and force players to play a certain way and content?


I honestly dont get it - i started with this game and was amazed by the graphics - the controls were garbage and the combat awful - but that was just because for some weird reason they had the worst possible settings as standard ...

So i was hopeful that this game would get better and better - especially since they had a lot of content already made for korea. But the exact oposite happened - every patch made the game worse. More and more bugs, absolutely awful design decisions etc.

Even the basic implementation is awful. My first expirience with the runes:
- get weekly rune reward
- open them
- inventory instantly maxed, unable to even use the normal inventory that isnt full
- no way to make rune inventory bigger
- rune upgrades are automatic so if you dont have the rune in your rune inventory you actually wont upgrade it when opening them
- no way to share runes between your own characters to maximize grind and frustration



Some parts of the game make absolutely no sense. For example the Armors and Weapons.

There are lots of white weapons and armor - things ppl will use for probably 10 minutes if at all - their designts arent bad - why even invest money in creating those models etc. if the game doesnt take advantage of them with transmutation or higher level verssions etc. of them?

The same applys to blue and green items - they have so many great designs in this game yet they use none of them - instead everyone looks like a copy paste clone of everyone else playing the same build. And many of the high level skins dont even look good.

The same applys to the purchased cosmetics - most of them simply look awful. And even worse they are often onesies so you pay way to much for them and cant even mix them?

This rune system is the biggest FOMO on top of the everyday endless grind , i uninstalled the game.

Having to level these runes to 20-40-60 levels is just insane.

The grind wouldnt be that big of a problem if they also limited the way you can grind to certain parts for no reason when you have to do all the daily activities for other stuff aswell.

If it at least was added to the content you do anyways aswell it would be half as bad.

I think its most of the time a big problem when DEVs are trying to force players to play games a certain way. Peopel have different interrests and that should be reflected in the game.

One of the big aspects of it is probably also the lack of interresting rewards in most dungeons or at least the chance of getting interresting reward for ppl.
For example is there any viable reason why only the bosses in dungeons give any rewards?

I was really holding out that this new patch would smooth out some issues and inject some new activities for me to do that would actually feel worthwhile....

The reality is I completed the entire Fishing Log in 1 day.... 86/86
The Rune system is just a never ending grind of the same boring content already in the game.

Outside of that they didn't do much of anything.....
Then I downloaded and started playing PoE2 because everyone says it is what Diablo4 should have been........ I played for about 6 hours last night and I can honestly say I had more fun playing PoE2 then I did with the 400+ hours I invested into T&L.

That isn't to say it is a better game, not trying to compare the two..... but my honest reaction after turning off PoE2 was that I really enjoyed the time I just invested into it.... something I have not felt much of at all with T&L.

- do the same events etc. for the weekly rewards

The most fun i had in the game were leveling, story, and playing together - but the game after some time simply lacks interresting activities and everything feels like working on an assembly-line with a checklist just to feel like you didnt miss out and not getting left behind.

This reminds me of the ubisoft-formula when it comes to generic content. And to be honest it almost feels offensive that Open World Dungeons, pre level 50, level 50 and 2 star dungeons are copy pasted besides some boss mechanics and small design changes. (Open World dungeons at least are bigger but they also lack variety)

Yeah my routine was pretty much the same.
F2P Player and I made it to 3250CP
I just need the Belt of Bloodlust and I would have all my gear. Would just need to finish the trait grind.

The thing is, the game quickly became a job after 50.... all of the endgame is piss poor at best, none of it is fun at all. People will see it for what it is over time.... I give the game 6 months or so before it hits sub 20k Player Count like all the other Amazon MMOs. PoE2 for sure is going to kick this games player count down a good 20k..... but the game itself will be the cause of most players leaving, not another game being better..... because that bar is so low any game with a fraction of vision could jump that hurdle.

rune system is for the p2w players and zergs, is no for f2p and casual players.
they only change it if they lost too much player base.

I'm a F2P @ 3.8k. You can run x2-x3 Challenge dungeon dailies on top of your usual routine in order to complete the weekly mission and do the skip scheme for other events just to get the Resistance Medal and other stuff.
Maybe we can suggest that they will add rune chance chest in Contract Token merchant or Guild merchant.
Its another + for the pvp. If ure not interested in the pvp u will be fine without it/ doing it when u feel like grinding it. Alot of people are done with their builds and thats the next step to progressing ur character so its absolutly fine. Everyone wanted something they can continuously grind and here we are - runes. Its okay if u dont like it but its the same like in every other mmo, doing one thing over and over again, whether its for loot or whatever.
If u already dislike the game because of this then better stop playing at all because it wont get better for anyone thats annoyed by the fact he will miss on things because of his work or whatever else, because in a february/march we will get T2 and gotta do the same stuff over and over again.
Just dont ask for a mmorpg if u dont want to grind a mmorpg.

its so funny seeing posts like these especially when the system was nerfed for global to make it easier.
A lot of your complaints also seem to be from the fact that you just don't really understand how the system works. Inventory space shouldnt be an issue since you should be dissolving everything you get besides synergy runes anyways.

Not just PvP. Rune synergy gives a lot of HP even the common one that's 400 to 600 HP. That's a boost for PvE also, Accesories alone gives around 3k+ HP and +2 or +3 in stats
