Latest update blocked by Norton antivirus due to High Risk Threat (IDP Generic)

Threat Name : IDP.generic
It was OK when the server first started. But it appears there was a recent update after the servers went up that introduced this (according to Norton it was introduced 2 hours ago)

PC platform and can't login to game after yesterday's update. Stuck on back screen after the initial T&L loading picture.

Restarted PC then relaunch game via Steam account but still can't login.

Prompt states "Launch Error"

"Invalid game executable path......." Game was working fine for me until yesterday's update.

you have to go into norton and restore the file and create an exclusion rule for it to work.

Same Problem with Avast Anti Virus

You have to add TL.exe as an exception in NOrton.

In Norton go to Settings\Antivirus\Exclusions and put in the path to TL.exe.

E:\Steam\steamapps\common\Throne and Liberty\TL\Binaries\Win64\TL.exe

That's what fixed this for me. I uninstalled twice before I figured out it was Norton blocking the executable.

I was able to add T&L as accepted when norton wanted to quarantine the game.

Game is running after validating the inegrity of the game files + clearing the cache in Steam Settings/downloads/clear cache

Update: I got it to work. Had to uninstalled the game then reinstall. When I started the game, Norton 360 automatically detected a threat with the TL. exe file (that was missing at the time of my previous post) and provided a prompt to choose what to do next. I selected the option to create an exemption for the TL.exe file and Norton 360 did the rest. Closed down steam app, restarted it, launch the game and it works fine now.

Update 3/16/2025

After yesterday's 2 hours downtime for maintenance, I removed the TL.exe exemption from Norton 360 then relaunched the game and was able to login without any issues; game works smoothly.
