Is the cash shop fair?

I've played for a few hours and found the combat/world interesting, but I'm afraid to invest any more time on it because korean mmos left a sour taste in my mouth (lost ark, bdo, tera) due to scummy p2w mechanics.

How's the cash shop in the game? Do paying players get an unfair advantage/stats over pure f2p? Am I screwed if I make a bad build and have to reroll later?

You can buy all the best gear from auction house with cash shop gems.
Same goes for all the traits you need to upgrade them.
Getting this all free to play gonna be a lot of work and certain items will be so rare you probably will never be able to afford them, only real money can.
Beside that, you can actually win rank pvp/guild fights and world bosses by having this gear, so it's literally the definition of p2w.. don't waste your time.

It's blatant P2W, you can still play normally but you'll hit the wall for endgame.

It’s pay-to-win, but all items are grindable, so it feels more acceptable. Honestly, all MMOs are pay-to-win in some way. Even in New World, black markets exist where players buy items and coins with real money. Any game that allows trading can become pay-to-win because black markets will always emerge if there’s demand. The key is to accept this reality. In fact, Throne and Liberty has relatively fair pay-to-win mechanics compared to other games.
