SOLVED: For anyone actually looking for a solution and not like some others that vaguely comment it can be done but offer no explanation...
Settings>Shortcuts>Character>Cancel Friendly Target
The default on my computer was Ctrl X and not Alt like some others have been commenting. Regardless, change this to whichever key you'd like (I changed mine to Alt) and press it before casting and it should self cast on you instead.

With Alt pressed, or whatever the default button is, it targets yourself. Only Swift Healing though, as far as I am concerned. Healing Touch, Purifying Touch, Invincible Wall and Blessed Barrier for example do not work like that.

I put my F1-F4 keys for self cast only! Taking over 7-10 numbers. My side buttons in mouse are the -,= buttons! I also have different sets ups for healing parties and solo so I can cast what I need quickly on myself or party members.

And to add to this madness we dont have a 'cycle through party' button like any other mmo out there, the target system is horrible.

I can't say you really helped anyone if your goal was to have your comment prevent anyone from using google. You state these things are possible but just say they are in "customize HUD or UI or whatever you want to call it" but don't simply state what specific options one would need to select to make this happen.

I've searched through the "HUD UI or w/e" and I don't see an option to deselect all targets.

Rather than vaguely state these things are possible while providing no actual instructions to do so, how about you tell us how to do these things if they are so easy and readily available.

I find this very common here. They don't want to help you or answer your questions, but they love to lecture you. :)

Ugh right!? What the actual f**k.
I was searching for this for way too long as a healer trying to quickly cycle through my party, especially since characters overlap like crazy.
They have an option to cycle to the next target for enemies set to Tab but not your party?
Baffling!

press esc. If you have someone locked, or click in a party on your name or top left picture.
I'm a DPS but also healer, so I also struggle with healing myself a lot of times, dunno how other manage to click like spastics, but for me it's really hard and i'm a poe hardcore player..
Or maybe I'm just getting old ~
