Why is finding a group so annoying in this game?

I don't know if the game is a buggy mess or if the community is just not interested in dungeon runs - but finding a group for a levelling dungeon is a total pain. And this is coming from someone who did their time in Valk on FF11 and Barrens chat in WoW - at least you knew the score there.

Been trying to do dungeons today and yesterday (at least when it wasn't maintenance!) and had enough: the matchmaker does nothing, no one replies in the party board and then it tells you you sent 3 requests already, LFG chat gets nowhere, there are already lvl 50s running lvl 20 dungeons and people are starting to ask for fast runs, high gear requirements etc lol for the first levelling dungeon where people are supposed to still be learning their class...

A shame since the game seems really good otherwise.

I've also decided to stop using the dungeon finder for level 50 dungeons, this is why: It's not that players are undergeared—that's something you can usually work around. The real issue is that many players don't know the mechanics and aren't willing to learn them. Even when you try to explain and endure multiple wipes to give them a chance to improve, they just don't.

Because of this, I highly recommend joining a guild and finding a group of people you can regularly play with. Building a team is very important in TNL, much like in old-school MMOs before WoW.

Going back to this - I've figured out how the party board works and can get a group - but it's a bit chaotic. The party adverts change very quickly and you only have a few seconds to check the group you're joining. Anyway it's workable, the match making system still does nothing.

If I stick with the game I might join a guild but rarely have the time for it these days!
