1. The game has random lag. I got over 1GBps download speed, its not me. Yet I can be doing the chains or lever on Temple of Slaughter and randomly none of my inputs do anything at all, im stuck flying in the air, and then randomly i rubber band back and im falling to the ground. Even without that the pinions in the air are buggy. Half the time I don't even get an option to grab them.
2. Interaction distance for grapple with controller seems shorter. I have to get really close to something to grapple to it.
The difference with other mmo's is that what happens on your screen is what happens for you on your screen. Even if its not exactly what others see, you don't randomly get hit by an AOE on your screen when you are out of the AOE, but on another players screen you were in it.
As for boss mechanics, I would say their all garbage.Fighting the bug boss, having to stand on a pillar, and fly to a location to kill a bug is just a pretty dumb mechanic. Having to fight the Chimera or what ever in temple of slaughter and pull a lever, just to be able to pull the chains is a dumb mechanic. The whole flying thing should be removed and your only required to pull the chains.
I've played FF14, and it has the best boss mechanics of any MMO, even garbage WoW. Some of their boss mechanics are so hard for the hardest challenges in the game, that 99.9% of players never beat them, or players resort to using hacks to do the mechanics which basically all WoW players do for every single fight in the game.
For entry level dungeons these dungeons should be much more simple for entry level T1 purple gear that will be replaced when the future zones and T2 + come. They can make the mechanics harder over time. It doesn't help that the combat is clunky, especially on controller, which is just a million times more inferior to the cross hotbar that FF14 uses for controller, or even the hot bar swapping system that Elder Scrolls Online uses for controllers.
Some don't explain it well. I figured out mechanics on my own though.
Yes, literally 3 minutes. PvE's difficulty is literally just knowledge checks and countering the purp attacks.
3 minute guides exist for every boss. Make sure your group knows mechanics before you pull.
God forbid we not just stand there in fire braindead making numbers.
If you think this is too hard, find something else.
Communication Skills Fail
Research Skills Fail
Initiation Skills Fail
There are even 3 minute video guides out there in youtube explaining how easy/cheeseable some of these dungeons are.
Host a party and lower the CP, talk to people in the party while waiting for some members
Atleast, this game has doable solutions while some MMO's are CP/item level gear dependent, and most of which requires you to watch long youtube videos, which you need to rewatch a couple of times - and getting flamed in the dungeon a couple of times -as a newbie/learner- because you made the team go wiped out
