Loot DPS Based?

Just saw a review that Loot is DPS based .. is that true? I mean, it would make sense why i never get anything.
if thats the case this needs to be changed..

If not, can anyone explain how the loot drops work?^^

Good luck getting contribution on world boss as a tank or healer.

Less contribution => less chances to drop anything from world/field bosses and world/field elites. So unless you are a hardcore player, you probably won't get anything worthwhile from world bosses.
With normal mobs, the player who tagged only gets the loot - unless it is quest loot, then you can get the quest items/progress as well. At least while leveling.

that's why you need a guild to farm world bosses in guild rifts

Yeah I only got drops in guild raids and nothing in open world even as dps

I was the 1st to started fighting a treasure goblin. But a beefy player came along and did more DPS then me so the game said.. Woah! you da man bro... And gave alllll the loot to the already beefed up player lol... Stuff like that needs to.. and it will in time change. I'm feeling loot is most'def DPS Based.

Also works off dps in dungeons too. Went from dps to heals and went from getting multiple drops from mobs in dungeons to zero. Albeit it's not game breaking but the system does seem to want to penalise tanks and healers. Presumably since making it a bit of an armsrace when it comes to dps contributions might incentivise more people to spend money on the game to kit themselves out... though hardcore players will probably be fine since they can farm lucent. Not sure what this all spells for the longevity of the game.

Nah players with either sns or wand get purple world/raid boss weapons easily. Dunno which smoker said that xD

DPS 2550 still not a single purple weapon from world or raid drop.

i never got drops as healer in dungeon, only the chest at the end.
