New World had servers in Sydney since release.. - what kills is not even the ping, which is around 180ms for me.. it's really the net-code on ToL, 180ms in this game feels like 3000 or 4000ms in other games.
and actions are just impossible - everything becomes a struggle, I jump and try to fly:
- character is first flying, then
- becomes a fox, goes to ground, then
- a bird again all the way up, then
- I'm human flying and
- I finally show up in the ground dead.
it's almost like the client is fighting with the server on every single possible action.. I got into the Secret Dungeon, I mean.. we need to be able to block.. it's impossible, you try to dodge when you see the animation, however.. well, it's gone cuz it takes like half second for packets to come to my client and reach the server back.. so you eat the first attack, then second, third.
Amazon.. a company with the biggest cloud datacenters, all over the world, everything to them is "Cloud".. but, they have not learned how to use it.. what a bunch of Juniors.
