Event Contributions as a Tank?
In Throne and Liberty, there seems to be some ambiguity regarding how contribution from tanks is calculated during World Boss events. The information suggests that rewards are distributed based on how much each player contributes to the fight. However, as a tank, you're typically dealing much less damage compared to other classes, especially those using combinations like SNS/WAND. This raises the question: how exactly is contribution measured for tanks?

It would be unfair if tank players were always unable to contribute as much as DPS-focused classes due to their inherently lower damage output. Is this really the case, or is contribution measured differently to account for the tank's role?

In Final Fantasy XIV, for example, aggro generation is a factor in contribution, and tanks often have high contribution scores due to their ability to hold aggro effectively. I'm curious if Throne and Liberty uses a similar system, or if there's another method in place to ensure tanks are fairly rewarded for their efforts during boss fights.

This game's events are heavily unbalanced towards tanks. The events all require you to be able to compete by dealing high dps, and even more biased against melee users because ranged users can tag enemies from afar and be the only ones to gain contribution points from them.

It gets even worse in the PvP modes because a PvE tanks won't be able to tank in PvP, and they'll also deal mininal damage.

imagine how healers feel.. tanks and healers definitely get the shaft and we need a way to mitigate that.. make the decision on who gets what random or a guaranteed regardless of what you did/did not contribute.. it's a world boss with like 50-100 people killing it.. now we all have to compete with each other.. it's dumb.

Peace events especially. GL if you're a tank or healer. Even more so if you're not in a group.

In PVP even if you kill a player that tagged a monster that monsters status is still set to the player you killed. BIG oversight. In other words you would need to run away, let the monster reset THEN attack and kill it. SMH

It's already confirmed that healing and tanking DO contribute. Only NCsoft knows the exact formula but they have already considered you. Also, it's a guild game. You're not getting drops based on you alone but on your entire guild's contribution to the boss. If you're wondering why you don't get any drops ever, it's because a guild that brought 12 people stole the reward.

They force you to get a guild if you want to have a low chance to get a loot.
