Did they use AI or something because it's awful, I stopped playing after 5 mins because I just couldn't stand it any longer, is it any better in korean or something ?

I think you played the wrong game or are in the wrong forum.
Or you have installed on some weird language cause I play it on english and the voice acting is top notch, and sometimes even switched to Korean for one line. Which I find is more fun than just a minor slip up in programming.
Youtube is already full of the dialogs showing when characters speak perfect English and then suddenly put out one line in perfect Korean and then go back to english again!
Anyway. Did you not recognize the voice of the narrator?
It is the same one as in Baldurs Gate 3. So if you shaming this game for its voice acting you also shame BG3.

I just turned it off because I can't stand the narrator (not her voice, I just don't like the idea overall).. but.. now I get no voices.. sad.. I actually liked most of the voices but the narrator is unnecessary and should have it';s own switch to turn off.. makes no sense ... all it does is tell you exactly what already happened in the story.. like thanks I was there.. at least give the option to skip or to speed up.. I get so happy when she is talking and I do something to get her to stop.. makes me smile. Now she is off for good but so is everyone else. Oh well.

voice acting top notch ? maybe if the direction was to sound like the disney channel in AI generated tempo, seriously, something feels off.

Besides the low overall quality so far the characters I've encountered do show typical signs of AI generation, bizarre repeated mispronunciations of basic/common words being the most obvious on top of weirdly morphing accents (again on the same words and phrases).

I was thinking the same thing, the more I played the more the voice lines sounded like AI, or they hired all actors with monotone voices, wouldn't be surprised if all of the story was made with AI as well considering how ♥♥♥♥ it is.

I speak Korean, and the Korean voice acting is pretty good. English? Mfs sound like Fiver weaboos billing themselves as "voice actors."

Just got through the part where this guy sings a song and it is the worst "song" I've heard in my life and they made your character say how amazing it was (I can't remember the exact phrasing, but it made me laugh in disbelief).

Also wondered about the story being AI because it is SO bad. I can't even tell what's going on, it's all over the place. I only know what the bad guys are called and that they are bad guys that want YOUR power.

I tried this game because I was told it was fun, and my first experience was being booted by anti-cheat. Someone on here said because the cutscene was so long the game thought I was an AFK bot. They said to relog again, so I did to try it further. So I have.

I don't know if something is lost in translation, but the story is just not good. I don't think the combat is bad, but it feels like they made decent combat and then surrounded it with random gobbledygook to just fill it out with something.

I turned the AI voice off, the other stuff that has real va's isn't that bad (though I choose Japanese as it feels more natural to me and I understand 80% of it and for the 20% I have EN subs on)

So one of the voice actors is Catalyst from Apex legends (Meli Grant) and i think she hinted at the fact this game swiped her voice with AI?? I asked her if one of the npcs was her and they said "You know I don’t know what the status of this game is right now vis-à-vis the strike, but that certainly sounds like it’s definitely me."
