Can someone explain the Elite Arkeum Riot Squad Captain Boss Fight

I get the concept that you are supposed to stun him so he doesn't does his aoe attack but the timing seems completely scuffed. I stun him as soon as the shield goes red, doesn't work, I wait until he says 'die' it doesn't work. I try mutliple stuns, he gets pushed but still does the damn spell. What am I supposed to do?

No idea, I still haven't figured it out. Usually I try to have a group with multiple stuns or CCs so we can blast them all at once. Usually at least once connects...

Elite Arkeum Riot Squad Captain avoid his AoE lines on ground
when his Shield is up, wait, then when raises hand: CC from 3 players (weaken is good enough) to interrupt his next AoE that can wipe the party (unless ubergeared whatever)

I worked it out. You only have ONE chance to CC him correctly. If you do it early he regains his shield and does the 1 shot. As he says 'die' you need to stun. If you CC when he says the voiceline before that, he will 1 shot.
