Except it is? I'm not fond of the game, already uninstalled it, but it's an MMO in every sense of the word. If anything i'd argue it's more so an MMO than a lot of other games, considering the world is truly open, no real loading screens (or very cleverly hidden) gigantic open world and you can pretty much see everybody that's there.
the poor combat doesn't explain anything since GI and WW got better combat systems than most of mmos out there
its not, its just an old MMO that got reworked twice. This started as Linguine Enteral in 2011 (long before the mobile game craze was booming) it went into closed beta 2016 and was turned into Project TL which in 2022 became TAL. It also seems they couldn't decide between full action and risk the ping issues that made tera unplaybe for some people and tab target so they did this lame hybrid that just feels weird.
Edit; As for Gacha what is the Gacha here? The gear/traits? Gear progression and farming is sorta a stable of mmos. Dont get em wrong im not saying its not pay to win, im just saying its not really a gacha. Personally havent seen anything that collectable driven maybe those pets things but who cares about them.
GI literally has the most basic combat known to man. What are you smoking?
Imagine sounding like Genshin made it all up and doesn't rip every one of it's systems off of other games lmao.
im talking about smoothness, having 40 skills on the skillbar doesn't make a better combat system, elemental reactions do add some depth to GI's combat it is not that basic
