How's the story?
I know most people don't really care about it in MMOs, but I'm curious, is it interesting, leads into good boss fights at endgame or is it just there and the story are the friendships we made along the way?

Khorne tell the Slaanesh to collect soul stone for purpose. You as the player, is the chosen one to fight them back.
I mean, its NCsoft product, dont expect that lore is same as good as WoW or FF14. My opinion is 5/10.

I enjoyed it sort of, did not skip it, it has some really cool cutscenes and moments, but is nothing spectacular. So it's not Final Fantasy 14 tier 10 year saga worth of deep character building, but it also is not BDO tier below average total slop. Yes, a bit generic stories, but it's more of a collection of "local map" smaller stories combined into one, stories that introduce the important NPCs and the lore around the area you are currently progressing in. Story of local heroes, birth of the resistance, story about a vampire and a vampire hunter, not all connected, but loosely tied into to the next step sort of way.

While it's not any groundbreaking Oscar award story, it has some cool cinematics, the music score fits it and some epic lore that was interesting to watch for story enjoyers. And the Narrator is a good VA with calming voice, reminds me of Baldur's Gate 3 narrator voice, or somehow familiar from some other game that i cannot pinpoint exactly.

Yes, the story has cliche/generic stuff in some areas, but still i'd say they have some interesting bits and characters. The good graphics the game has sort of buffs up the experience even during the more generic bits, since it looks better than any other mmo, the discussion scenes where you see your character etc is more like Hogwarts Legacy tier than usual mmo tier graphics. So it adds into the atmosphere obviously.

tldr: It's better than typical average Korean grinder and has some really cool bits in local stories through the main story, some parts are more "generic MMO tropes" as to be expected. Overall it was enjoyable and waiting for new content for sure. Narrator's voice and the music score and the great ambient sounds and how beautiful places look in max settings in 4k.. i sometimes forgot i was playing MMO, it feels often more like single player tier graphics and atmosphere by the quality.
