Well arena SUCKS

Completely gear and cc based. Definitely better to not be melee. Game has no balance and there is meta.

Crazy part is most people playing arena are decked out in full pvp builds already.

I dont think ive ever played competive 2v2 or 3v3 where it has nothing to do with skill. For that matter its not even remotely fun.

A great pvp arena to compare to is wow ofcourse. When you queue. You are viable as a tank healer or dps. You knew what you were up against. Lets say your opponent was shaman and hunter..you KNEW what skills your opps had.

In throne and liberty you are completely blind to what the other person might do. It makes it extremely less skillful. This game tried something new with having weapons be your class but that idea fails miserable with pvp.

Another point is its heavily focused on teamwork. And therefore the only way to be viable at ranked is to commit to a serious 3s team. So there is no casual ranking system. So if you dont make a build and commit to being in a serious 3s team..you cant even enjoy the competitive spirit of ranked.

Okay lets say im bad. Well not only if that was even true..whats it matter? All my points are why the arena isnt fun and doesnt take skill.

Im sure its fun for all the people who are decked out and know what they are doing and killing the noobs. But when everyone is following the meta then itll just be another bang your head against the wall fest. It seems very dragged out when battles are evenly skilled.

I just struggle to understand what the growth in arena is. I cant tell what my opponent is using really or what gear they have. The only thing I can do is try different builds but that takes some serious gear grinding.

In any case its just a huge letdown as I was looking forward to grinding and getting better..but I cant really get better without getting better gear/builds and then even then it just seems like if you dont have x hit chance and x defense you will get beat.

another mmo by amazon and no one saw this coming? pretty sure after there first failure they decided to just make the games free to play and have a bunch of in game purchases.. and low and behold.

the games not gonna get any better. its gonna focus more and more on purchases. it'll die and be mostly dead after the first 2 or 3 months and the only people left playing will be the ones who spent a bunch of money on all the in-game purchase bs. theres no real depth. the stories really poorly put together. controls are wonky.

its just a copy paste of (insert random other mmo's)

It does suck it’s hard. UNTIL you play around with your skills and adjust/alter them to sustain yourself and do’s. I lost like 20 battles str8! All my first but when I started to win it’s because after every loss I saw what was making me vulnerable and or what I needed to counter or even defend myself. Than the wins started rolling in

But thats the thing. I dont understand how to learn this game. How are you able to jumble your skills and also have the appropriate gear for it? cause i cant imagine running ranked without full purple +9.

So it’s really a you thing and not a game thing. You just need to find a good team and gear up. Every aspect of life is about finding people who watch your blind spots and having the best gear (or tools). It’s on YOU to learn. If you can’t, then it’s a you thing. You have to work on yourself

You say skill issue but offer no evidence how melee>mage or range. Or argue my points that its heavily build/gear based. Id love to say skill issue but the reality that I know is people have better builds/gear then me. Which I would understand a month from now. But im going against whales with decked out +9 purples 3 days into release.. -_-

Regardless if you think this arena is skill focused you are LOST. You may be wrecking but then realize you are the whale with better gear killing noobs. Cause every arena I play is lobsided and one team is destroying the other. If this game was skill based you would have more even matches. Even when it is even matched. Its a head on wall banger. I literally played one where heals was better than dps and nobody could kill anybody. Regardless if I get better, I still will lose to better builds/gear..and there inlets the problems.

Its very easy to say skill issue. But I and anyone else can be GOOD at any game given they put the time in and WANT it. Its just that the journey getting to the point im good isnt worth it. Arena lacks skill and fun. Why would I increase my builds just to finally work on my skill level

GS/dagger is viable. Almost everything is if you understand the game and how to play. GS/dagger is objectively stronger than sns/dagger is. It about skill, knowing what animations look like, what ones to dodge/block. Arenas is extremely skill based. Youre upset about not being heavily geared to fight swipers. Understandable. It's first few days of the game. You will catch the swipers.

Thats crazy talk to think I must go find a serious team of 3s to play with..instead of just being good and solo q. I never had a problem learning a pvp game before. This game is the first. The first where I can say wow what a crapfest how can i learn this if I dont actually equip mage staff and go practice myself. Fighting others offer no skill at getting better. Majority of skill and how good you are comes from HOW YOU PUT WORK IN OUTSIDE THE ARENA. Usuaully pvp game you get better by playing better people. In this game you get crapped on the end nothing to gain.

So after watching some. Heres my takeaways
1. The guy is extremely op geared and reaching 17k hp in some clips..while killing players with like 6k hp.

2. Okay hes good but basically he uses a skill to appear behind someone and dumps enough dps to basically melt anyone. Okay yeah thats viable ofcourse. But what can his opponents do? They cant un cc themself and counter. Esp 2v1 you are doomed. So again back to my point of how teamwork is the most important thing.

3. The people he is playing against are bots/not good.

4. So you found one op melee user. Congrats?

5. His opponents are just getting beat by the TEAM. How many of these clips are 1v1? or 2v2

Its been 5 days since release..if you think there is even skill at this point you are wrong. Hes just op gear and knowledgeable about what hes doing. Put anybody on his account and you are viable. There is zero skill involved.

Yeah not every ranked pvp game needs you to be in discord for 8 hours a night working on strategy. You sound dumb because you are closed minded and cant understand anyone else pov. Only your pov is meta correct?

Wow is far from basic. You use just as many if not more skills in this game except people can actually read what is going on and it matters if you succeed with skills or not. You played it wrong and used the wrong skills or didnt hit them correctly. Enjoy the L. You get punished for notplaying good. In this game you are justop and melt if you melt..congrats.

We are all brand new...and you are telling me 5 days in im bad because I dont know every single weapon/skill how to counter every skill? Like how is it even possible many do. The targeted system and buff/debuff icons and skill usage is garbage and I cant easily tell what is going on.
