Honest opinion
I've been playing MMOs since around 2001, back in the days of Martial Heroes, Silkroad, Cabal, and others. Every time I tried more recent MMOs like Aion, BDO, B&S, or Lost Ark, I always felt like something was missing—there was a lack of that classic vibe and ambiance that made me feel truly immersed in an open world.

Going into this game, I expected it to follow the same predatory model, but so far, everything has been surprisingly smooth. The gameplay is incredibly fun, the combat feels fluid, and the soundtracks are immersive and really enhance the experience. Although the English voice acting for NPCs feels a bit like something out of a Disney movie—slightly too polished—it doesn’t take away from the overall enjoyment.

The best part is, I don't feel pressured to spend money. My friend and I had pretty much given up on MMOs for years, but we're genuinely having fun playing together again. Even though my time is more limited now that I’m fully grown up with a family i am responsible for, it's nice to unwind for a couple of hours a day in a game like this.

I probably can't finish every single challenge in the game as in the past collecting everything, but that's fine.

EDIT: I wish i had a free character appearance change as a compensation tho as both me and my buddy kept disconnecting at launch and just had to quickly select a preset as we couldn't spend time creating a character.

Whenever the title of a post is "honest opinion," I always wonder if the poster lies all the other times he does not put "honest" up front.

Well if you didnt like Aion then i feel sorry for you, the best PVP MMO experience ever, nothing even comes close to that game for pvp, and btw its not a recent MMO its 16 years old

I don't really get the Aion part, as Aion was amazing for it's time. I agree with just about everything else though. People bashing this game either have some underlining issue that is preventing the game from running well, or are just skipping everything to level up and get to endgame. In which case their experience will obviously suffer.

Aion was amazing until you got into big RvR battles in the end game and realized the game absolutely could not handle large groups of people fighting each other in one place. I remember it becoming an unplayable slide show within the first week or so.

I was a power gamer back then, and probably leading a big ol' pvp guild as I tended to do when I was younger, valued my time less, and could just throw way too many hours a day at a new MMO. So it didn't take us long to see the issues with the end game. Within a month, we had all left the game.

It was fun right up until the end game, though.

Probably yeah, i just got a beefier setup than usual cuz i do flight simming as a hobby.
I got a 5800X3D and a 4080 which runs the game pretty well even in heavy town areas with tons of players.

I was just giving a couple examples, i've tried almost every single one in recent years except for the ones that look like they are aimed at children with comic looks.

Don't wanna come over as a troll as people in these discussion boards are either super bored or have nothing better to do than create trolling threads.
I honestly am enjoying this game so far, just trying to check every guide and youtube video for things i should avoid :cactuar: don't wanna make mistakes and re-roll my character.

Not to be rude but you have not played many good MMORPGs

I didn't feel like listing every single MMO in here that i've played obviously, don't worry you aren't being rude.
I've played quite a few even wow, gw, lineage, dragon nest, atlantica, 9dragons just name it :steambored:
i've steamrolled through every game that looked somewhat promising over the last 20 years.

but it all started with Martial Heroes for me in the past, typical old korean grindfest that required me to kill 5000+ mobs a day or hunt bosses at specific times at day or i miss the time window for the rest of the day.

I just can't spend that same time anymore on titles, i am not a young child anymore without responsibilities unfortunately, i miss those times haha.

then you know the struggles of finding a decent MMO.
I just hope amazon won't go extremely p2w with this one killing the entire playerbase.

so far checking the shop etc it doesn't look too bad as u can seem to earn ornates and lucents quite a bit.

I personally find this game a 5.5/10 but with some polish it could become 6.5 or 7/10

My gripe is purely movement, combat, VA, camera

I was there in the beginning too and never had anything like what you described. I used to DP Jelly entire groups of players into the fortress domes for insta-kills, no lag issues at all. Other than that difference, it was a very fun game. Learned to tank there. Aion these days though is a F2P disaster. It's not the Aion we played.

yeah Aion is definitely not the same Aion anymore, a shame.
hope ncsoft doesn't do the same mistake for this game.
