Once they do, melee will begin to shine and survival will become easier because Health itself is also a substat. I'm a caster myself and the chief thing that shuts me down are high burst dagger builds or constant chainstun melee ones. Casters need time to unleash their payloads. Melee can just get in there and spam it in a full burst. It's just like other RPGs, melee is weak early on and shines later when gear is brought up. Casters gain strength from gear too but not as much due to the melee's new defenses negating much of it.
If you want to grab casters, be my guest, but I assure you later on the tables will flip. Casters are still good for ranged damage but melee becomes lethal up close.
Also the meta on T1 gear its Evasion... so good luck landing those hits.
You need to wait for T2 gear for things to balance out for Melee Classes because right now they are all trash.
Lot of people playing sns/gs because they think that its strong but its not and they are already finding it out, its strong just in Korea because of T2 gear + archboss weapons where they can just one hit almost anyone while being inmortal beings.
i mean gs especially in combination with ss is officially the strongest weapon combo at the moment, and should therefore also be nerfed.
gs can kill practically everyone except sword shield while you are still in stunn without being able to defend yourself, so that should also be nerfed.
edit: to elaborate on this given the observation of small scale PvP, GS is one of the strongest weapons in small scale Player vs Player with a CC nuke combo which decimates non evasion based targets... GS+SnS/Dagger needs a re-work given the combo is braindead unless specializing on melee evasion.
