Mages > in pvp
As a greatsword user, it seems mage and range are way op as people are dishing 150k dps an arena and im getting swamped at like 40k dps. Enless these mage users are completely decked out then yeah mage >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Actually it's the opposite. Ranged combat is dominant right now because base stats favor dps. But once melee gets 70 damage reduction or lots of resists/endurance, those casters won't be doing as much. The issue is currently people have trash gear. They're more concerned with the color purple than upgrading their traits. They obsess about equipping epic gear like it's some WoW clone when epics are usually weak until you upgrade them. A proper gear piece at blue can have like 450 extra stats on it. That's 15% more damage, 15% more crit chance, and 15% chance to deal double damage potentially. Just from a single piece of gear. Stacking substats is the way to go and people right now haven't done it yet.

Once they do, melee will begin to shine and survival will become easier because Health itself is also a substat. I'm a caster myself and the chief thing that shuts me down are high burst dagger builds or constant chainstun melee ones. Casters need time to unleash their payloads. Melee can just get in there and spam it in a full burst. It's just like other RPGs, melee is weak early on and shines later when gear is brought up. Casters gain strength from gear too but not as much due to the melee's new defenses negating much of it.

If you want to grab casters, be my guest, but I assure you later on the tables will flip. Casters are still good for ranged damage but melee becomes lethal up close.

Bro as a Staff\Tome i feel like the range is useless, its so short you might awell be melee as it is, dont stand a chance against a melee user just bursting you down in half a second, not sure how you managed to get nuked by a mage that needs to be in your face to even attack you.

As for mages, or any ranged for that matter, it's incredibly easy mode to just kite. Even with blues you probably won't have much if any magic endurance or evasion so they have free reign. It is rather absurd. Not to mention all the PVE events where you tag mobs anybody ranged has a huge advantage on melee.
Yeah i had same issue but check settings i think it is better with one setting fix

Magic will always be strong in PvP as there are few ways to maximize magic defense/endurance once the evasion meta stops in T2.

Melee it's just boring to play on this game, for example with sns/gs you relay a lot on landing your CCs skills to do something... and people already sees you from miles ahead what are you going to do.

Also the meta on T1 gear its Evasion... so good luck landing those hits.

You need to wait for T2 gear for things to balance out for Melee Classes because right now they are all trash.

Lot of people playing sns/gs because they think that its strong but its not and they are already finding it out, its strong just in Korea because of T2 gear + archboss weapons where they can just one hit almost anyone while being inmortal beings.

I think mages need more pvp dmg and stun resist. I can fight aß mage vs melee but only becourse i play tankmage with hallo and permaly mana burning at the anyme Person. But tankmages make only half damage. Normal mages makes Burn dmg but melee make Himmel 1hit.... its not normal that i must switch like tankmage.

i mean gs especially in combination with ss is officially the strongest weapon combo at the moment, and should therefore also be nerfed.
gs can kill practically everyone except sword shield while you are still in stunn without being able to defend yourself, so that should also be nerfed.

i also think he/she/it is trolling or something... GS complaining ? i mean.. really ?

edit: to elaborate on this given the observation of small scale PvP, GS is one of the strongest weapons in small scale Player vs Player with a CC nuke combo which decimates non evasion based targets... GS+SnS/Dagger needs a re-work given the combo is braindead unless specializing on melee evasion.
