That's how it goes. You should be thankful because unlike other p2w games with fixed prices, these prices will lower over time as people obtain them. Eventually it will be possible for you to afford some of these items for a fraction of that cost. Of course, the prices will definitely plummet when new gear comes out and whales chase those items instead.
As long as you're cool with not being #1 or even top 1000, this won't matter for long. Just like video games, some people can afford to buy them day 1. Others wait for them to go on sale.
Lol. I like that you've justified every angle of it for your personal wellbeing
I would rather use 1800 dollars buying shares of an ETF. At least I will have value.
this game just like lineage and other korean mmos are aimed to mid-upper class ppl who can spend thousands of dollars easily, 400, 900 bucks, 5000 is nothing, there are many whales like that in korean mmos. The casual folk, the f2p folk they are just there to make em company to give whales a practice target, one of em is worth hundreds or even thousands of casual players.
People buy ice cream every summer. It has no practical value. It's an overpriced consumable that has no health value. Yet people still do it. Heck, the revenue numbers on the fast food industry make me cringe. People, you do realize actually healthy food is cheaper now, right? We're past feeding your entire family for $10.
TL:DR - There are practical purchases people should be buying... and then there's all the junk they actually buy. Everyone's addiction is different, but they all buy things they really shouldn't.

I'm still playing when the game comes out. I will spend my money on skins, instead of fake power level that you can earn by playing the game.
Gear sold/bought won't be maxed out and still needs to be leveled right?
I kinda see this like buying runs in WoW for gold/irl money. Prices are crazy rn because of launch but surely they would be reduced later?
nothing like wow, you cant buy pvp power at all in retail wow pvp. you actually have to grind out the honor/conquest by pvping there is no other way to obtain it. people buying runs in wow are usually buying aotc, max vault mythic runs which isnt going to win you anything but standing around in the capital sooner and getting kicked from real mythic groups.
classic on the other hand does have some p2w on the rmt side but 400+ would get you pretty damn far and there is nothing beyond t3 and in some cases isnt even bis for pvp.
