"Gold-Sellers Will Ruin This Game" - An analysis....
Hi all,

I wanted to bring up a critical issue that has plagued many MMORPGs in the past: gold-sellers. These entities have a notorious history of disrupting game economies and diminishing the overall player experience. I am particularly concerned about how this issue will be managed in T&L, given the detrimental impact gold-sellers have had on games like WoW.

In WoW, gold-sellers created a significant imbalance in the game’s economy. Players who purchased gold from these sellers gained an unfair advantage, allowing them to acquire high-end gear and resources without putting in the necessary effort. This not only undermined the achievements of legitimate players but also inflated prices for essential items, making it difficult for honest players to progress. For example, the auction house became flooded with overpriced goods, and the value of in-game currency plummeted, leading to a frustrating experience for many.

Gold-sellers often resort to unethical practices such as hacking accounts and using bots to farm resources. These actions not only violate the game’s terms of service but also compromise the security of players’ accounts. In WoW, there were numerous instances where players lost their hard-earned progress due to account breaches orchestrated by gold-sellers. This not only caused distress to the affected players but also eroded trust in the game’s security measures.

Given these concerns, I am keen to know how the developers of the game plan to address the issue of gold-sellers. Will there be stringent measures in place to detect and ban these entities? Are there plans to monitor the in-game economy closely to prevent inflation and ensure a fair playing field for all? It is crucial that we learn from the mistakes of past MMORPGs and implement robust systems to safeguard the integrity of the economy.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I would imagine that even if there is no currency swapping hands, that there are plenty of services that can be sold in the form of carries. You would be surprised how many groups of snb/sword + 5 staff/bows bot groups you can find on korean servers.

Omg and bots too ? Think am a gonna pass and that

I mean, Amazon did promise that they will be on top of it but somehow i doubt it will be much better then the korean counterpart. Will see once the game goes ftp :)

It will be the P2W element and the the Whales that will kill the game.

Just enjoy the few months while it last, and don't spend any money.

LOL!!!! you really think the DEVs are going to chat in here?? NOPE GL with that.

Remember, gold sellers thrive in games that allow them.

But in games that ban people who buy gold, they become irrelevant.

Hope Amazon banhammers the lot of those cheats. And they probably will because having an in-game auction house means gold sellers are directly stealing from devs. They won't be happy about lost income, not at all. So enjoy getting your account banned if you go for gold.

Also, this won't matter here because the currency isn't some freely farmable trash currency. WoW gold is worthless, people even hit the gold cap because they had so much of it. Lucent is paid for with real money, transactions will be taxed heavily, and anyone who thinks they can profit off such a system will find themselves deluded. If anything, you might find some bots ruining the groupfinder because they are trying to leech drops to sell. But that's why you should join a guild.

Sounds like you're trying to run for an office that doesn't exist. I still wouldn't vote for you. Nothing of substance. Just bringing up moot points and hoping the fear is still there. It isn't. We all know to stay away from those sites. You're not that cool to be the only one who sees them.

Gold-sellers, bots, p2w, and that virus thing puts many @ our place off.

That's what happened in Lineage 2. It sucked.

Pls explain me how to aquire high gear ?
You can only buy gear in auction house with special currency you can earn by invest rl money or sell your loot/gear/weapons.

In this case i dont think goldsellers will be a big problem.
They can farm like many others in instance and sell it but i dont think they can rl money with this.

As i saw in the hours i could play you will earn enough money ingame with quests, events and other
