Stuttering, micro freezes, unplayable
Hello,

i bought the game, no refund possible and it's unplayable for me. The Game is lagging and stuttering all the time. Low settings, max setting, windowed or fullscreen, i tried so many things. Everytime it stutters. The thing is, when i tab out to another monitor, it works fine, till i tab back in. Anyone having the same issue? I thing thats a problem with UE5, but dont know how to fix this.

I thing this can not be the specs or Hardware.

Intel I9-7900X
64GB RAM
Geforce RTX 4070ti

My friend had issues playing this game as well. His specs are 14 gen cpu "BIOS up to date", rtx 4090, and 64 gb.

The way we fixed his issue:

1.- Disable directx 12
2.- Enable vsync
3.- Make sure the game is running at your monitor refresh rate.
4.- Lower everything to high and only shadows to medium.

If you cant get into the game due to Not enough video memory, then do the following:

1.- In Steam right click the name of the game, then under properties input in the command line -dx11

2.- Head over to nvidia control panel and add the game to the 3d settings. Once the game is added, then cap the fps to your monitor refresh rate by enabling vsync, then just in case cap the fps to your monitor refresh rate. vsync should do this, but do this too just in case vsync does not work.

3.- Get into the game and lower the setting of the game to high or medium, and un-check dx12, lower shadows to medium, enable vsync, and you should be able to play the game.

4.- Go back to nvidia control panel and restore the default settings of the game or just turn off vsync "this step was done to allow you to get into the game and you no longer need it enable from the control panel since you enable it from inside the game.

In my case I had to enable dx12 to stop the stuttering as I have a 2060 12 gb gpu.

For some reason, on anything lower than a 4k series card the game stutters with dx 11, and dx 12 will fix the fps issue.

For anything at a 4k series card disabling dx12 fixed the fps issue. Weird uh?

This may or may not help you as every system is different. I hope it does.

:)

PS: His game was at borderless too from fullscreen.

Also, in some towns you will encounter fps issue no matter what you have as a pc.

Had the exact same issue. Nothing changed my fps besides one simple thing. I just put it on the recommended settings(Epic) in my case and it got fixed. I only disabled motion blur and it runs constant 60 fps now with vertical sync. Hope that helps.

thanks for your help, but nothing of it works. Still stuttering. i Dont think the reason is any graphics, cause when i tab out, i have 100+ fps and when i tab back in, the fps drops to ~30 and stutters...

Thank you so much. Running it on directx 11 is what fixed it for me. Life saver
