Solo vs. Guild Play

I'm an old time DnD player who came from classics like BG, IWD, and NWN, so haven't delved much into large-scale MMO's, but I am very much looking forward to T&L. My question for discussion while we wait an hour is:
Is solo play worth it or is it better joining a guild? What I mean is, can you actually progress at a decent rate if everyone else is in a guild? Can you have access to powerful items/gold/equipment? For instance, if everyone zergs a boss, won't the guilds get the drops? How can you hope to get a 0.001% drop if you are not in a guild?
Just an inquiry I have because I'm not apart of a guild.

You can do only so much things solo. You need alliance, guild and party for endgame content.

Ah I see. Thank you for the reply. I shall see if I can find a guild/alliance in-game some time down the road (early on) then.

Solo is worth for F2P players so they drop the product after reaching the P2W wall.
For you it's different obviously. Since you pay you can reach endgame and buy your way to best weapon and gear.

Your performance in raid depend on your contribution, so the dual wield credit card users will have higher numbers, resulting in you having a lower score. Since the guild master is pretty much god he has different option.

- Keep all the loot and f you all.
- Sell the item and give you crumbs.
- Sell the item to a member (real money but cheaper if nice)
- Give the item to a member

The weapon is around 350$. There's probably more to add but at this point why bother ^^.
