If there is GS in a build 99% of the time that is all you need. You dont have to play the "meta" just put the GS in your build.
GS user prones target -> guillotine
someone else's bound/sleep/shock/stun target -> deathblow
the latter being around 10 second which reads ok for pvp on surface level. but are those cc types breakable by allies? sleep seems like it could be broken with just an autoattack.
guillotine could probably do with a larger cooldown. seems fun lol i mean 14x base damage seems wild
PVP is all about defense mixed with offense.
Which would you choose on your gear, Crit Chance or Max Health?
PVE players: "Crit chance!"
PVP players: "Max health!"
Always go max health. Always stack your defenses. You want some offense too but you get plenty of it on the base item. Your traits should be aligned towards stacking evasion so high that those GS/dagger/sword users have to depend on RNG just to stun you. And later on, builds can hit over 2.7k evasion. Like the game gives you options, you just have to gear for it. The GS users won't be doing the same to you magic. They will be building Melee and Ranged defenses like everyone else to counter the GS/dagger/sword/bow/crossbow meta. These classes all have stuns and burst while magic users are slower dps that has to rely on elemental combos or stacking DoTs.
If you are a class that doesn't have GS in your pvp build, you better dance the fight perfectly.
A GS can screw up and never hit Q, and they still take out players.
I guess at the end of the day, it bothers me that if someone is not GS/XX, they start every fight at a big disadvantage. Seems very unbalanced, that's why so many people play GS/XX and the reason it won't be nerfed because that brings in the money.
If I owned this game, I would never screw up the "cash cow" for a pvp game. Hell, I am thinking about swapping too. PvE has so many options and fun classes to play... pvp you better have GS or be at a disadvantage.
the kill rankings in my EA Server Stormbringer in Asia are 95% bow/dag, staff/dag, and bow/staff. There are less than 10 people out of the 100 that use GS/XX (rank 28 GS/Dag, rank 35 GS/SNS, rank 42 GS/Dag, rank 90 GS/Dag, rank 93 & 94 GS/Dag) out of the 100 there are only 6 for kill rankings, the rest are bow/staff bow/dag and bow/staff.
The salt here is insane cause GS users can do 1 aspect of the game better in terms of kills (1v1 and small scale) than a staff or bow user where in staff or bow users are good at large scale fights where they can do fireball lightning chain lightning and get 5-10 kills every time while bow users do flash wave and get more.
Like pick a struggle bro you want to win 1v1s pick GS/XX combo you want to win ZergVsZerg/GuildVsGuild pick bow or staff. So simple but the entitled people want their spec to do great in every content. Granted my spec (SNS/Wand) is broken AF as well in 1v1s cause practically unkillable but we don't get kills in large scale cause we sleep bomb people so the staff or bow users can get kills and that's ok. At this point you adapt or its skill issue on your part
Some people like stun lock being in a game some people dont. Zerg or no zerg. God forbid, another pvp player wants to press one button before death. Not even win the fight, just be able to press one button for people like you is to much to ask.
If requesting the ability to press one button during a fight upsets you, we can just agree to disagree.
It's just not a fun game mode.. in any MMORPG
Once T2 drops, you'll notice even tanks one-shotting people. It's a very Korean gameplay style to have characters so overpowered that they one hit people.
