Yeah, I've heard/read some about this. Just now when I went to Reddit, the first post on my front page was from T&L subreddit about botting. It's a problem when you make a game grindy and even more of a problem when you make it free2play.
Doesnt stop botters from botting warcraft tho. Its a pain no matter the game. Hate cheaters.
Wouldnt be suprised if devs dont care about it and actually benefit from it to some extent and will only ban when people get frustrated and theyll do it to keep people happy for a couple weeks.
T&L received the bulk of its players at launch, as seen from the jump after early access ended. There might still be some people on the fence that haven't joined yet, but the nature of the game's progression systems and the chances of newcomers being able to find peers makes the game's longevity pretty finite. If they open up fresh start servers, that would be how they can keep this game going, because whales and newcomers alike would love a chance to start at the beginning.
And that is also the reason why there's botting problem. Resources is easy to get and sell it on market for them botters to RMT it. IF it was grindy, you will be seeing ALOT of pilot services instead of bots. But so far I only see a few of piloting services.
