Does the base attack on my secondary weapon boost my main weapon?

Does the base attack on my secondary weapon boost my main weapon or does it only works on which ever weapon I switch to? I mean it will boost my gear score but does a good secondary really help if 90% of my skills are from my main weapon.

Ready! Press P or open up the window that allows you to see your stats and your whole character. And look at the stats as you cycle through the weapon by just clicking in between the 2.

it dosent me as bow/Xbow wen i upcradet the xbow the xbow skils damage increased

it doesnt increase your base damage but the skills you have on them are shared such as hit, heavy attack, crit, health. base damage and weapon mastery skills are not shared
