This market? What a fail...
How should this market ever work? If the main currency can't be earned by any means, which is a nessesity for ingame (and real btw) economies to function.

A premium pay only auction house for free ingame item player trading? Who would be that dumb buying anything? That's against any basic rules about "how to use money right"!
There is no monthly payment/income systems for premium currency, no seperated currency for it or any system normally being used to carry something like this auction house.

This is like as if I have to pay you to get a currency (5 to 1 likely) just so I can sell my own property and then pay you again to buy something because it didn't pay much??? That should cause a long loud beep in most human brains.

I think I just want to understand the idea behind this because this would have been easily avoidable and made profitable. After all others have tried the same, failed, adapted with a seperated currency, one way exchangeable with regular free and paid handouts of said currency, done.

The problem with Lucent is that it works until it doesn't. Right now people are happily spending money to buy skins, bp, gear and thats a lot of currency being thrown around. But as player numbers diminish and people start spending more wisely (or already got most of what they need until the next soft reset, which is T2) it tends to slow down, and everything starts to lose value rapidly. At that point new players will barely find any worthwhile items to sell and it becomes discouraging to continue, especially when theres so many bots laying around (although that is to be expected). Poorer regions like SA also skipped this whole step, going immediately into the phase where only the BIS pieces have any sort of value and the rest rots away without buyers.

Its a bold business model, expecting players to keep the economy alive and quickly decaying to increasily higher suppply while at the same time demand is bound to diminish. It feels short sighted, and the current success shouldn't be priority at all :Fardy:

If anyone expects to stay long term, its very important to sell as many things as you can while they are in demand and theres plenty of lucent being spent. This will not be the case in a couple of weeks. Sell and hold :soniisalute:

Friend of mine is F2P and he used the market to get the majority of his stuff.
The issue is not the market as long as people buy lucent everything is okay, the issue are taxes, which makes lucent slowly dissapear which means you need more people to buy lucent.
The market itself works perfectly fine i|m F2P and I have bought everything i wanted from the shop and have 12k lucent atm, just by farming items, selling traits, recrafting items or selling their litographie.

You've got free items and free trait extract stones and you can sell the Extracts of the item traits you don't need on the AH to get the lucent, and then you can buy the traits you do need.

Check this guide I made, it's about the guild coins -> lucent workflow, but you can do so with any blue/purple item:

I've bought the BattlePass with the lucent made this way in-game, and still have like 1k lucent left, it's doable.
