The option how GS can prone you is after stunning blow(stun/shock), devastating smash(stun/shock) or specced spreccision dash with(bind).
If its a dagger/gs they got a extra blink()bind+silence and 2 skill to prone you(maybe got other option to im not realy chek it on dgger).
If its a sword/gs chain hook(bind), strategic rush(stun if you get pushed to a wall or object) and firce crash(if you get head butted to a wall or object) make extra options.
For resist you need to understand the formulas its got nice explanations on YT.
But most of user just use it the stun after charged on you or the charge/blink bind you and then prone you.
GS/Dagger users blink is more deadly because blink got bind with silence chance so that one need to predicted if they come in range they try to jump on you.
Q skills work well but its still need some prediction or know the enemy skill rotation for combos.
S&S Fierce Crash with specialization Desperate Clash changes the Push effect to Prone on the main target. In this specific case, it is an instant application.
With this spec, you don't need an obstacle to apply a CC and Desperate Clash now synergizes with Guillotine Blade due to applying Prone and both skills having nearly the same cooldown.
