There is a switch feature but it's for Weapon Mastery benefits. The weapon you carry as your main determines what passives you have active most of the time. The game automatically swaps weapons for you any time you use a skill to benefit from your off-hand's weapon masteries.
I haven't switched off my Staff ever since the game began. There's no point to.

This game does have a class system. But the class system is based on which two weapons you chose. You can literally see your class in-game, and when you inspect other players it tells you their class name next to the weapons they're using. Classes overlap on weapons used but not on synergy, so different classes can utilize different abilities better than others using the same weapon.
Like just because these aren't all classes you want or are used to doesn't mean anything. You don't need a Warlock or Druid in every game. KR games tend to have weirder classes.
The issue is with two weapons, not classes.
- Mages can use Staff, Wand, Dagger, Sword
- Paladins can use Axes, Maces, Swords, Polearms, Shields
- Priests can use Staff, Maces, Daggers, Wands
- Druids can use Staff, Maces, Daggers, Fists
...how is being able to use more than one type of weapon an issue again? It's hardly the first, last, or only game out there with standard D&D classes that use more than one weapon category.
