So, there is a problem.
Traits unlock stone.

If you want a trait that you really need, kneel down and pray that the game will give it to you.
You will have to drop the weapon/armor with the trait you need in its respective dungeon.
Then you will have to drop another armor of the same kind to unlock the second trait, the same for the third trait.
Then drop weapons and armor that have those same traits, or maybe drop rare (blue) equipment and recharge the blessing to unlock 2 traits using 2 rare (blue) traits (900 blessing = 2 epic traits)

Then you have the math of the amount of tokens for dungeons (900 day, 6,300 week, you can't have more than 4,500).
In the dungeons you can get some coins (dimensional soul sharp) with which you use 1 of each dungeon (6 in total) in exchange for a bag with 3 unlock trait stones.

3 dungeons per day = 12 dimensional soul sharp
12 dimensional soul sharp per day = 84 dimensional sharp per week
84 dimensional sharp per week, you use 6 for a bag of 3 trait unlock stones, you get 14 bags per week, 14 bags is a total of 42 trait unlock stones per week, plus 25 from the weekly quests and blah blah blah....

Is the game good? yes.
but there are things that just ruin it.

very true it takes a long time and as you also know traits are very importaint. But you can use the Auction House to sell trait extractions that you dont need. if you get some lucent you can also buy the traits you need without speending any money.

guys game just came on global wait a little longer when i played on KR it was unlimited dungeons you cant spend contract

Your main source of unlockstones are weekly quests (by not picking an item, as they are generally trash) and portals. Don't do it with your dungeon tokens, you are throwing hundreds of lucent away by doing this.

Instead, pity craft valuable gear, sell them and buy whathever you need.

My guy's doing it wrong. I get about 100 per week and unlock a trait on those world boss drops. Takes time, ya, but lots of MMOs do to max out your BIS stuff. It'll take weeks but eventually they'll all get maxed. Just don't waste them on easily farmable gear and you're fine, buy the traits for those from the AH. World boss drops only are what you spend them on.

You know the traits are locked to a specific type of gear, right? For example +150 to health trait will be per piece of gear, not globally.
You will need a lot of the exact same pieces of gear, with the traits you want or use the unlock feature and hope you get the trait you want.

Straight up bs considering you can only get those through mystic portals (not guaranteed) or the weekly completion.
Codexes and Lithograph completions for those are one time only, not weekly earned.
The guild treasure chest isn't tied to weekly activities either.

Read what I said again and then what you said. Now explain to me why what you said matters at all. I'm fully aware of how the upgrade system works, I've maxed out the traits on my world boss weapon already. But I did it using trait unlockstones.

Oh wait, I see... you completely misunderstand the trait system, is that it? You don't need exact copies of the same pieces of gear except to UNLOCK the trait. Once you unlocked it, any gear of the same TYPE counts for upgrading it. Meaning any weapon in the game with +150 health can be used to upgrade your world boss weapon that you unlocked the health trait for.

Do you get it? You only need 3 copies of the same piece of gear and then 9 other epics of the same category. And the AH is full of cheaper traits on crappy gear. You don't need to buy the expensive ones unless you're unlocking traits for that gear piece, which is where trait unlockstones come in to help you do it affordably.

Which is a fantastic system that makes a lot of drops valuable just because of their trait. I suspect that it will take another month or two until the west starts to grasp how this works and then prices of rare drops will start going down

You forgot to mention the rarity of gear and RNG on the upgrades if you do it that way.
While this is another system, in my opinion it's not necessarily the fastest.
Time will tell.

Actually, I've been advocating for weeks now in my post history that people ignore the epics and focus on maxing their blue gear first. The reason is because a fully maxed blue item is easy to do, especially if you select one of those bulk blues that drop commonly in the open world dungeons, and once you've maxed all its traits then it will be worth 900 blessing points when transferred to the epic item. That's enough for two free trait upgrades using a blue item guaranteed.

That's kind of why you have time to farm. Because you shouldn't even be using purple gear right now. Stick to the blue stuff until you can guarantee two trait upgrades and then move up. A lot of people are NOT doing this and they are in for a painful upgrading process.

But like I said, unlockstones should be reserved for world boss drops only. Most of your gear build will come from other sources, and a bunch of it can be guaranteed crafted -- you can make weapons from the dungeons, a pair of rings, even open world dungeon selection bags. You can basically PITY pull most of your gear. Actual world boss gear you only need 1 copy of, a bunch of trait unlockstones, and then bulk epics bought from the AH or farmed. Or you can gamble on blues since you get spammed with them every day just farming the dungeons anyway and they have no other use really.

Ya, it's not as hard to upgrade or acquire stuff as people think. It just takes time. You can only buy so many Abyssal contracts each week so you're limited on the selection bags along with everything else in the game. Over time, though, you will 100% chip away at that deficit through the many guaranteed sources of gear the game has available.

Fair enough. In a way, the system is very similar to BDO in terms of failure and stacks.

Thank you. People just need to take their time and realize what the word "epic" means in epic gear. Maxed out blues is the way to go, it makes you viable for the grind ahead. And too many aren't taking their time to learn the crafting mechanics. There are plenty of streamers making Youtube videos to teach people!
