Why throne of liberty is actually good.

For years and years weve all been waiting for a decent or great mmorpg. The last century has seen many releases with 95% of them sucking with a few exceptions. Guild wars 2 ff and new world. Throne and liberty is finally a mmorpg that came along and did things RIGHT.

-somewhat challenging dungeons
-open world bosses
-dailies,weekies etc.
-many things to keep you busy; farming, lithograph book, books, exploration, collecting morphs amitoi
-I personally love the amitoi morphs and shapeshift and collecting them which brings me into my next point
-rare drops (pets/morphs/gear/etc.)
-this game does NOT make non replayable content. What I mean is, other than a few story cinematics, all the content in the game offers some playability at end game. They dont make a huge area for you to just never go there again. They use their resources and dont waste time making one off content
-solo challenges like taerels tower

There are many reasons why the game is enjoyable. I will say the pvp is definitely debatable that it is bad.

So if you havnt bought that game yet or are turned off by bots. Just stop worrying, go play pve and enjoy your own progression and stop worrying about everyone else. I have morphs and amitoi most players will never get. And who knows whats its in store? This game pretty much offers everything you can want from an mmorpg and the future can bring new never before seen features. This game already has some of those tbh.

And if you dont like this then you simply grew out of mmorpgs. Because this offers a classic mmorpg experience with updated quality of life and content.

There are many reasons why the game is enjoyable. I will say the pvp is definitely debatable that it is bad.

You just described every popular gacha game. I suggest trying Honkai Impact if you enjoy this kind of game.

NCSoft is a mobile dev for a decade now. They just created a mobile game in MMO format. Everything you're mentioning is from there, where they keep you busy with meaningless and EFFORTLESS content meant solely to keep you busy grinding. The dungeons become laughably easy once people have the beginnings of a real build, and people can now even beat them before the boss mechanics occur.

Just like mobile games, the content is boring and repetitive and you far outgear it quickly and the entire point of it is to make the grind insufferable. Enter the auction house. A place where you can only spend premium currency to exchange for goods that let you skip the grind, while simultaneously having players compete with each other over scarce gear supplies that are intentionally kept scarce by LIMITING the amount of daily farming you can do (again, MOBILE GAME TACTICS). World boss fights are a gacha roll with a 0.6% chance of getting a loot drop due to the number of players that attend. If you want to skip the RNG and guarantee you get the drop without waiting a month, you pay for it.

The PVP has one purpose: to fuel competition. People get free world boss drops, even free Premium currency, just for dominating PVP in certain spheres. Players get dominated by other players and go to the auction house to buy more power. This competitive spending, complete with a ladder ranking, is notorious in mobile games where whales crush the free to plays with their wallet. The PVE is laughably easy but the PVP is brutally hard unless you're spending. Fully traited gearscore 3500+ players and even entire whale guilds controlling servers and crippling the economy, and all this before the castle has even unlocked to control the Tax Rate. Prices are about to go up for everyone.

Again, if you actually like all of this, I strongly encourage you to try some mobile gacha games. They're the same thing. They offer all the stuff you enjoy. It's mindless daily PVE and pay-to-win PVP to infect you with FOMO and along with a torturous gear grind and RNG gear upgrading system -- Korean style. Again, try Honkai Impact, you'll love how much there is to do and upgrade every day/week, it's even an action game. Or pick up something like Raid: Shadow Legends and do your world bosses every day praying for the right drop to finally come your way.

GuildWars 2 has super SHORT "dungeons" (fractals) and you do not even get gear from them at all.
GW2 has horizontal progression and the endgame gear (legendary) is crafted and not dropped from dungeons.
You craft your gear once and ur set for 20+ years, since new expansions do not add better gear. New expansions add new account features like gliding, different mounts, etc. but NOT BETTER GEAR. This is whats called horizontal progression.

I play the exact same gearset on my main characters in GW2 now for 10 years...

WoW Retail has one of the quickest levelings in all of MMORPGs.
You can get to max level in a single day.

You do realize every WoW expansion adds new raids (usually 3 per expac plus dozens of dungeons) DURING the expansion OVER TIME and not all at once?

You know what I really dont understand. Its almost like you are actually so bad at pvp you are mad at the game. That you sit here and complain its p2w instead of just MOVING ON TO ANOTHER GAME. Did you ever think you are the problem? You think too complex. Maybe games arent your thing anymore man. You expect too much. You will never have fun again because its 2024 and nothing is great anymore. Sorry you cant enjoy what little good things we get here and there.

Its actually people like you who will be against paying for the game in $60 increments or subscription based. Then complain cause its p2w which is the only option if its f2p. I have been complaining about shops and f2p games forever since they came out.

Good old classic mmorpgs didnt have that. You bought the game for 60 bucks. You got a year of a game with updates. They come out with expansions. Or sub based. Then as f2p came out people hand over 20 bucks for stupid cosmetics all the time. Ever since then we will NEVER get mmorpgs like we used to. And you clearly havnt gotten over that.

With that said throne offers a great pve experience but a bad pvp experience. I agreed to that already. But aside the pvp its very enjoyable.

All in all, in a few months most average f2p players will be 3000-3500 gearscore. Its not impossible to get whale status f2p is a couple months by doing dailies/weeklies.

So let the whales run the release of the game and the game will balance out eventually.

Now the game it is what it is. Stop coming to threads were people actually enjoy the game and call them names cause you dont agree. CLOWN.
