The pay to win stuff is literally cosmetics. The rest of the game is normal MMO ♥♥♥♥ with a grind. It's like Albion Online where each piece of everything links upwards or downwards on the rarity spectrum. Break blues down into Greens. Build Blues up into Purples.
You can only have 3 alliance guilds at a time too. So that's a max of 280 players you gotta face down if every guild member goes online. Most I've seen online at once for an event is like 25. My own guild barely breaks 10 to grind out world bosses and open dungeons.
Everyone whines about "Pay to Win" when none of the currency you need to play is able to be bought. I guess you can blow Lucent on battlepass currency?
My point is, the game has enough going on that you aren't stuck waiting to grind dungeons. Lots of exploration, lots of PvP/PvE (you get tons of items just helping mates level or grind their own ♥♥♥♥). My only gripe right now is the Mystic Keys being capped at 5 a day. And that's cuz I like hunting for the orbs and Mystic Portals.
I dunno man, when you say it's a classic Korean mmo, I think of a TON of MMOs. This one feels like Guild Wars 2 + FF14 + Albion Online. I mean go call Guild Wars 2 a classic Korean MMO. It has you buy each story's "Season" if you miss it, has a cosmetic shop, forces you to buy more storage, etc etc.
This game is still young but Lucent only guys cosmetics right now. I spent it on the battle pass and earned like 380 on the auction house selling garbo. Not a hard core game, not no-lifeing it. Just walking around and doing different things.
EDIT: Don't let try-hards make you think you need 2800 power or whatever to play. That's just the no-lifers. Lots of guilds are just there to easily meet up and tackle challenges. My guild is semi-hardcore and they let like 20 newbs in. Hell, I didn't make level 50 until 10 days into the game. I switched weapons and went from 2200 down to 1800. No one booted me.
There's the propagation of this Impostor Syndrome where you have to be a Perfectionist and do everything right, an Expert so you can stay competitive, or Superhuman to even have a chance.
None of that ♥♥♥♥ is true.
and as for not P2W?
have you checked the Auction house?
you can buy ACTUAL weapons for Lucent, and believe me the top 5-10 guild of EVERY server will have PLENTY off people shelling out that much money to stay relevant
Sadly NCsoft/Amazon fked up, they could of all together blocked selling ALL weapons/armor and just let infusions be sold and Whaling would be MUCH weaker at this stage
You buy blueprints for level 0 weapons. Which are worse than the previous rarity's level 6. You still have to have items, you still gotta grind the mats, and you still have to put in effort to get the weapon up and running.
There are 3 main types of items to make an item good. The pay to win blueprint. The grind to build untradable item. And the craft to improve tokens.
So even buying the weapon doesn't give you an edge. That's also based on the idea that one has to follow a Meta to succeed. Bad news is that there are many types of builds and metas. Our guild leader is still using Greens as he grinds out purples. Just skipping Blue all together. His power 2400.
No lol, You can buy World Boss Weapons which are in vast majority off Cases the BEST, it will be worse when Archboss'es start showing up. and save your leader some time best way to transfer to purple is get blue's get them +9 get traits to 3/3 than infuse to get +6purple with a high blessing value
I guess the question is: so what? How does that affect you? How will that change your gameplay?
I can end here actually, grab some lucents and go visit the auction house, pick a weapon that you would like with the lucent that you can afford. There's stats and damage on it. You can grab a green, a blue and a purple want if you would like. Do you know what is the meaning of Pay-To-Win ?
endgame content is Forced PvP, so how does it affect us? well it just does lol, u want that endgame upgrade? yeah that world boss drops it...oh btw its Conflict (pvp) get there and top guilds who probably dont need it anymore will camp it, kill you and your guilds, get the loot and sell it for Lucent
hell our servers top 5 guilds are all the same guild with slightly different names xD
Some of the gear that you need drops on world bosses (raid bosses if you prefer) and allied guilds CAN FORCE it into PVP mode to prevent you from upgrading. Even if you don't want to PVP, people force you into it.
I have no clue wtf you guys are raging about. Sounds like elitist garbo
