What Loot Distribution systems have you done for your guild?
With the poor system in play, I was just wondering what everyone else has done to create a fair system to distribute loot --- also looking for ideas <3

Yeah, just everyone takes their own loot.
Unless they don't want it.

For peace bosses, everyone receives their own loot, but for PvP bosses, the loot should be auctioned and sold. This is because, with peace bosses, individual contribution matters most, whereas in PvP situations, cooperation with your teammates is essential, so everyone's contribution is significant.
What about the Guild Bosses? ;o Do you guys do a dice roll system?

The point of this "guild chest" loot system is to allow to avoid the situation when you've got something you can't really use, so it's literally a waste of an item.

So in our guild, on guild bosses drops we do this:
After the fight, we post every item, and people who need the item to USE it, do /roll and a person with the biggest number gets assigned the number. If there is noone who would use an item, we ask if someone needs it for traiting, and if not, it gets transferred to the initial acquirer - the person who got the drop assigned to them by the RNG, who will probably put it in their litograph book or just dissolve it.

To avoid the situation, where new recruits who didn't yet contribute much to the growth of the guild (in terms of guild experience and activity points earning), we have a requirement, that to have the right to roll on the epic loot from guild bosses, your "guild reputation" metric, which counts your activity from the lat week, needs to be above 10k points.

We're in top 10 guilds on our server.

From what we've talked with other guilds, the most common alternatives on the server are:
- the item goes to the first acquirer,
- the item is put up for an internal auction, and is sold to the highest in-guild bidder, for lucent, which goes to the guilds coffers - this one is really puzzling for us.

Thanks for sharing! This has given me a lot of insight. We've just set up a similar system but I've filtered all the rolling onto a Discord channel for easier tracking. I also like the Contribution Requirement that you have set up xD I may implement it in the future but for now I don't think it's right call.

Sure thing, happy to help.

To elaborate on the reasoning a little bit: We introduced the contribution requirement, because while many of us try to cooperate on guild contracts, complete the objectives, participate in events and in general do stuff that earns guild exp, and in effect gives us the access to the new guild raids and various other bonuses, some people just log in for the bosses and then they go to do SkyWhale knows what or just log off, or even, in extreme cases, leave the guild, with the item they've got thanks to us.

We didn't feel it would be fair for the guys who are putting in the effort to allow the chance at the same rewards to the guys who do not put in the effort. The requirement was in general accepted with understanding, as people know that guild raid access doesn't come for free, it is earned.

Disclaimer:
That system works for us, but we imagine that would depend heavily on the group.
One shall always do what's best for their guild in their particular situation.

Your idea with rolling getting done on discord instead of the in-game chat is a very good one, and indeed allows tracking. We will look if we can maybe do the same.

Thanks!

the guild master takes it and we sing a song and the best performance gets the item
Doomvora Oct 16, 2024 @ 5:04pm
I've seen guilds do this the most, last guild raid of the week all items in the guild chest are rolled for (by the people that participated in the raids), each person can get 1 item, any items not taken are sold.
