And yesterday I gathered and repplied to 7 threads with many repplies each from other players, all complaining and witnessing the bots, players from different servers, witnessing bots on different locations, doing different activities.
It is real. It is widespread. It is sad.
So it raised my awareness to the gravity of the situation, specifically for the REAL ACCOUNTING OF THE NUMBER OF PLAYERS.
Many players are deceived thinking the game is alive and well and remain playing it, without knowing if the numbers are true, or inflated artificially, by either botting or by programs with no graphical interface that cause steam to perceive a game as being played, even though its just an accounted logged: some people use it to get the steam game cards, but it can definitelly be used to ARTIFICIALLY INFLATE THE NUMBERS OF PLAYERS, and thus manipulate the perception of a game being dead or alive. Many such manipulation of steam numbers and ratings exist I fear.
Everyone wants to be on the game that is ALIVE AND WELL.
I think the game population is going down as more and more people awake to these (bots, multiaccounts, multiboxing) and other problems of all kinds that the game is filled with.
I hope they get a handle on it soon, it will eventually kill the game.
oO udont see chain of bots .. maybe u check the single farming bots in farm sports who basicaly farming all day the same mobs ..
each server is full of bots ......
It's like mmo players are so desperate for something new, anything new that isn't 10+ years old they get Stockholm syndrome right away.
Maybe it is true, mmo as a genre is dead.. 50 years from now a top mmorpg list will hit you on neural link and its still going to be WoW, FF, GW2, runescape... and an ad for a new tab target that will totally change the genre by doing the exact same thing over and over and playing like its from the dialup era..and people will get hyped for some reason.
