Not taking damage actually makes it worse to drop things. Fantastic game design right there.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ its not, There are douzends of MMOs were tanks get contribution for dmg reciving or generating threat, intercepting dmg and so on, Especialy If you have so much RNG and Trait mechanics that needs you to choose one class to play for quite a while, cause you cant just swap builds and gear as a f2p.
Same here....... meanwhile all my dps friends have gotten 1 - 3 items each? That's garbage.
No they havent. It literally says in the post that cant happen.
So if your not in a guild or your guilds small-medium sized even in a party you'll probably never get anything since healers with big guilds all at the boss at the same time are going to be cranking contribution because they can also heal players not in their own party.
If its not going to be totally random the contribution from heals should at least be limited to the 1 party your in if your a healer.
or am i reading that wrong...is there special guild level world bosses i'm not thinking about?
Once with the drops appearing from WB. Then again a second time because everyone selling tanking items for way above the normal item's actual value. Adentus selling for over 10k Lucent is a prime example.
you're right. Some games even have a loot damage trigger threshold of 0.5% for those zerger moments when in large packs of groups. But not most damage gets drops. that's some clear P2W incentive and global shouldnt be wasting money on a terrible game that isn't worth it.
It would be one thing if the contribution percentage was for your own individual drop rates- IE: killing Excavator could have multiple people walk away with the boots, but YOUR chance of those boots dropping are based on your contribution.
This at least makes it more fair since a world boss dropping 3 things, 2 of which are likely going to top tier players anyways- is ludicrous.
The concept for what contribution IS needs to be expanded upon. It should be evaluating your time in combat with the boss, the damage dealt to the boss in conjunction with the damage you've received and heals you've provided, parries you countered perfectly.
I could have the highest DPS, but get slapped in the face by every single attack because I couldn't be bothered to parry, force my healers out of mana- and still somehow come out as the top contributor.
