A Critical Hit means you deal your maximum Base Damage on an attack. Critical Damage is a separate stat that increases your attack damage whenever you land a Critical Hit.
In my example, a crit is 100. But if a normal non-crit is min to max, then a normal non-crit hit is 75 on average. So a crit is not very impressive, A heavy hit is much more impressive cause even with 0% crit chance, a heavy hit would have 150 on average (given a non-crit is 75 on average).
I did a search for this trait in the auction house. There is no such trait.
But will it mean min damage or will it mean simply negating the chance of a crit. You are assuming a non-crit is min damage. I'm actually asking this very thing. Does a normal non-crit mean min damage or does it mean a roll between min and max.
You're talking about skills. Most people will not have this skill. I'm actually asking about traits here. I'm trying to decide between investing between critical hit chance vs heavy hit chance. I'm trying to see if a non-crit mean min damage or if it means min to max damage.
It depends on the endurance levels up against your crit. If it is higher than yours (which is more likely) against an Endurance build, it will be min damage. If your crit is higher it will more likely crit on a given range against endurance.
At least that is how I view it.
Critical Chance Formula:
Crit Chance = ((Your Crit− Enemy Endurance) / (Your Crit − Enemy Endurance + 1,000)) × 100%
Critical Chance Formula for PvE (Diminishing Returns):
Crit Chance = (Crit) / (1,000 + Crit) × 100%
Examples:
If your Crit is less than the enemy's Endurance, even by 10 points, your Crit Chance is close to 0%.
If you have 1,800 Critical Chance and your enemy has 1,400 Endurance, your Critical Chance is 29%.
At least check the link he gave you, all is explained.
