A Sprint or a Bark? Questioning the Shapeshifting Logic in Throne and Liberty

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy Throne and Liberty—it's a solid game. But turning into a dog just to sprint? It's driving me nuts! Shapeshifting into a bird to fly, sure, that makes sense, even feels natural for a fantasy game. But having to become a dog to simply run faster? It’s just strange.

I love fantasy worlds because they let us imagine amazing abilities that go beyond human limits, but needing to shapeshift to do something as basic as running? Where's the logic in that? If I transformed into a rabbit to fit through a small opening, or a tiger for a special attack, that would make sense. But to run like any other character in an MMORPG? It makes me question the design choice.

Am I alone in this? Can someone explain why it would make sense?

Most animals on the planet are faster than humans even when humans run full speed, the 40km/h of usain bolt is comedic compared to the speed of a cheetah, I don't see why this is difficult to understand

Can I ask a question? I'll do it anyway, why would you NOT turn into a dog/animal when running? You turn into an otter when swimming or a bird when flying. The question should be why we don't turn into an animal when fighting or something since we do for everything else. It's what the developers wanted for their game.

I'm yet to find someone who thinks the morph into a creature is better then having actual mounts but its certainly easier from a designer point of view since they have way less animations to deal with. It's a compromise that they were willing to make in order to cut on the costs.

Your human form runs all the time. You shapeshift to run even faster. There is the "logic".

Same concept as any other game where the mount appears out of nowhere, this isn't a stretch and reduces having to have another entity on the screen.
