How do I change the trait?
If I want to change the trait on a ring, do I have to make a lithograph and destroy it? Then, I craft the ring and hope to get the trait I want. If not, rinse and repeat. Or does a more simple method exist?

There are 2 or 3 methodes you could use.

1. Open Trait menu and use stones to change the trait
You can choose to select one trait (Cost (50-100) Unlock-Stones and (25) Blue Stones)
Or you can choose to take a RNG trait (Cost NO Unlock-Stones and MORE (100) Blue Stones)

2. Find the ring again with a better trait, open trait menu, override or add the trait (only cost sollant)

3. Make the ring into a lithographie and craft the ring again - Wouldn't recomment this methode. You can make good money with the right item/lithographie and buy other traits in the auctionhouse.

Thank you. Confusing and complicated. To get the trait I want, I need 50 trait unlockstones and 25 trait conversion stones. Expensive!

It's really not anymore. Now that Salvations drop for free from random dungeon matchmaking, you no longer need to consume your dungeon tokens to create them. That means you can use all of your dungeon tokens on trait unlockstones. Wait for salvation to drop before crafting your weapons and rings. Conversions are dirt cheap and you get them weekly in large amounts.

I thought using an item only levels the trait, not actually places the trait on the item you want. That would defeat the purpose of Trait stones.

Using any item of the same category levels the trait, yes, but using the exact same item unlocks the trait from the item you used. Trait unlockstones are the better way of unlocking traits since you get them for free while traits on items can cost 500+ lucent, or even more for boss drops.

oh never knew that thanks, guessing that's why the BiS purple traits are much more than the normal ones.
