Here's what you can do instead: use your Lithograph Book.
There is a lot of blue-tier gear you can get by completing a Lithograph set.
This requires you to craft the listed green equipment.
For example, by crafting and submitting the four green-tier staves, you can claim a blue-tier Staff of the Resistance.
Quality Lithographs (the blank ones you use to craft green equipment) can be purchased from the Contract Coin merchant for cheap.
As a side note, upgrading too quickly to blue gear inst that good as a fully leveled green should fare better than a basic blue. Blue gear is what you will be wearing the longest in the game as it is a lot easier to trait blue gear than purple and you don't get a lot of stones until a certain point for blue/purples.
