Currently at over 600 hrs across several playthrough’s
these games are not comparabe. MMOs are inherently mid and then you have BG3 which is one of the best CRPGs ever made. Do you like turn based games? Theres lots of reading aswell, these things are dealbreakers for some
I don't understand how can you even consider TL
To help you decide, I'll share my experience with both games. Baldur's Gate 3 is primarily a single-player game with the option for co-op. I played the game solo up until the third act, then started again in co-op with my wife, which was much more enjoyable. The combat in BG3 is completely different from that in Throne and Liberty or New World. BG3 features turn-based combat with damage calculated by dice rolls, similar to traditional Dungeons & Dragons. The main goal is to immerse yourself in the story and the world, with a cool storyline and dialogues that can take various paths, leading to different consequences.
On the other hand, Throne and Liberty is a typical MMO like World of Warcraft or New World. Since you've played ToL, I won't go into detail about it. Personally, I find New World even worse than ToL. It feels like an abandoned project where the devs are just trying to milk the last bit of money. The last major update was two years ago, and there's no road map for the future. The updates we do get are bears in hippo costumes. New World had potential, but it went off track for many reasons. I play games like New World or Throne and Liberty to farm gear, run dungeons, and do some PvP. After two years of doing the same thing, it gets boring, and the PvP has become very toxic.
I hope this helps you make an informed decision!
when comparing to single player RPGs, if we take the things they have in common.
try stop having them
people swiping for all these cash grab korean mmo's does not mean that the genre is inherently low quality
I can understand that people have different opinions on what they think is good and bad. I am just curious how you can say a game is garbage when you have not played it at all? (from what I can see in your games list)
Not an attack on you REM, dont get me wrong. Just looking for some clarification to why you think this? Myself I found TL terrible when I tested during Beta, but I picked it up and gave it some time and I am really enjoying it. I also have not spent one coin on any "p2w" stuff.
And I completely agree, BG3 is a brilliant game.
BG3 would be my choice Daoin. I have also played New World
No one like TL, that's a fact, just look how the server population lost 70% of the player base in one month, and the remaining 30% are 25% bots, 5% whales.
