Calling those "battlegrounds" is misleading as they are just not the same as WoW battlegrounds. No attempts at even making it fair numbers on each sides.

Unfortunately, PVP is never fair. I have not seen a single PVP option that is fair and based around skill.
They are always based around numbers and gear.

Yep and the core gamers know this and love it the same way they love preying on newb casuals and not actually people that think and play the way they do.

Name them. I've been PvPing since vanilla WoW and was a top in laughing skull. So please by all means tell me what games offer 'fair' pvp.

Duels in Heroes of might and magic 6 remains my favorite strategy game of all time. A shame nobody plays it anymore. Plenty of hero brawl games are fair as well, like heroes of the storm. Even WoW offers battlegrounds that are fair enough. Maybe not in gear but at least numbers, levels and prior warnings before pvp are equal, which is already better than any "sandbox" mmo
