Should we just play the KR version?

Honestly, does ANYONE think Amazon is going to do this right? Should we all just figure out how to play the KR version and live with the language problem? Probably a rhetorical question.

Besides the voice acting, the game is fully translated in english in the kr version.
Which begs the question, is scamazon doing scamazon things again? Like censoring, and inclusiveness, skin color changing, like in lost ark? I guess thats why half year wait. I hope they focus on making it less p2w or something useful like that, oh well...
Playing in kr is a waste, unless you have a trustworthy friend there, and you have to pay for vpn, change windows clock, and whatever. If you buy account, youll probably lose it, when they send a confirmation wave, and you have to confirm phone code. so... gg

There really isn't a language problem.

Kazar is the unofficial English speaking server. The whole game UI is already ported to English localization (no mods required). I haven't seen any menus or text in Korean since I've been playing for 2 weeks other than Koreans in chat.

And most of the party finder are English speaking groups. There are a few Korean and other languages but it's predominantly English speaking on Kazar.

My theory on the NA version taking so long is monetization. The game is pay to win on the Korean version. Which I really don't have an issue with and I'd play this version if it was released NA because it's very non intrusive.

Yes people can directly buy weapons off of the auction house with micro transaction currency. But it doesn't force you to do it like Lost Ark did with it's terrible daily/weekly allowance of weapon/armor upgrade stones.

In Lost Ark you'd hit a wall where you ran out of daily/weekly content and there was nothing else you could do in the game to progress other than swiping your card.

There are daily/weekly dungeons/raids etc. But you can still grind open world dungeons infinitely if you wanted to. The materials that drop in there you can use to craft skill upgrade books and weapon/armor upgrade tokens. So if you want to play like a no lifer and progress, you can.

But i feel like for a game to go truly mainstream in the west. That kind of monetization where you can swipe your card and get instant epics off the auction house, and the crafting materials to make skill upgrade books and weapon/armor upgrade tokens can't exist.

You really only have two choices. Either you know someone that's a Korean resident and can use their cellphone to get you a verified Korean NC Soft account, or you have to buy an already verified account online. (They cost about $7 USD) I'm def not linking to any websites for that as it will prob get me banned. After you have a verified NC account you just need to download the Purple launcher to download the Throne & Liberty game client. You also need either a VPN or ExitLag to connect and be able to play.

go to G@G and buy one for 3.99.u can't change anything but it works and i've been playing and doesn't look like a scam

yea it works, but they can retrieve your account any moment. and when ncsoft asks you to re-confirm you account, either with the mail or with the phone number it's GG for you. to try it out for a few hours/days sure, to play seriously is a waste of time and effort, at least for me

Agreed. I've been playing for about 2 weeks now but they could change the password and I'd lose everything any time they want. I'm not really putting too much in to the account though. Just trying out all the different weapons and exploring the world. If I lose it, it was a couple bucks. Oh well.

Well since it's AGS it can be anything really. Lost Ark was out 2 years before they finally released it, "westernized" to us with countless unneeded and unwanted changes.
So i wouldn't even bet a single buck on a release Q1, let alone an unchanged version!

Be careful if you pay for a verified NC account. You can't change the PW. If you have any lucent on your account from either buying it or selling items on the AH they will log in and clean you out. So if you sell items and get lucent, spend it immediately on items you can bind to yourself so they can't be resold.
